1. Musée national d'histoire et d'art Luxembourg
Don’t be fooled by its modern exterior, as this museum offers visitors a range of exhibitions dating back to the Roman era. Set time aside so that you can carefully view all the historic gems on display. The exhibits include Baroque paintings, images of Goethe, and excavated artifacts from Dalheim, to name a few. 2. Pfaffenthal lift

The Pfaffenthal lift has been recently upgraded and now offers panoramic views of the Alzette valley due to its glass construction. You’ll gradually ascend above the city and watch the pedestrians and cyclists making their way around town. Be sure to bring your camera or smartphone along to take plenty of stunning photos. And the best part, the entire trip is free of charge as long as the elevator isn’t down for maintenance.

5. Parc Merveilleux
Parc Merveilleux is worth visiting if you have kids tagging along during your upcoming trip to Luxembourg. It’s a quirky park with plenty of trees, a playground area, and several animals such as goats and penguins. They sell food packets on site so that kids can feed some of the animals and there are also restaurants to get food and drinks. It’s easily accessible since it’s situated near public transport and it also features decent parking facilities.

6. Casemates du Bock

Casemates du Bock consists of a network of underground tunnels that were constructed for defensive purposes. These stretch for approximately 23 kilometers (14 miles) and showcase the impressive craftsmanship of Austrian, French, and Spanish fortress builders that settled in this area. The tunnels were originally built in 1644 but underwent several alterations and expansions until the fortress was dismantled in 1867. And since 1994, Casemates du Bock has been registered as UNESCO World Heritage Site, which makes it a must-see attraction.

7. Place Guillaume II

You’ll want to spend some time in the southern part of Luxembourg since this is where you’ll find the local town square known as Place Guillaume II. And, there are several key attractions nearby such as Krautmaart, Luxembourg City Hall, and Ville Haute quarter. But what you’ll immediately notice is the iconic statue of Duke William II riding his horse, which is a prominent part of the eastern side of the square. Moreover, the square is also renowned for hosting music events such as the Rock um Kneudler that attracts rock fans from all over.

9. Adolphe Bridge

Adolphe Bridge is an elegant structure that features large and distinctive double arches. Construction began in 1900 and ended three years later, and the bridge is named after Grand Duke Adolphe. It allows traffic to cross over the Pétrusse valley and connects Boulevard Royal to Avenue de la Liberté. Furthermore, there are bidirectional bicycle and twin pedestrian paths, making it easy for cyclists and pedestrians to transverse the bridge. A bidirectional tram line is under construction on the upper deck and expected to be completed by 2020.
