3. Learn about farm life and pet the sheep at Fischer Farm



A house with a lot of history, this huge farm is now a public park with many different recreational opportunities for all ages and especially for the kids. The farm is a great place to visit to learn about the history of the area and to see all the artifacts in a landscape that has persisted for so long.

For the little ones, the farm also often hosts multiple events and programs, all for a low price, for kids to learn about farm life and have some fun petting the sheep, or making seasonal crafts, including churning butter! It’s also a great place to hold any event, as parties and rentals of the area are welcome and it’s a great setting for an intimate gathering!

4. Cool down at the Bensenville Water Park



It’s a small waterpark but it does the job of cooling you off in the summer heat and it is a great place to take the kids. There are various play areas, some with water, and some without, a huge water slide with a deep plunge pool at the end for the thrills, a large pool with a very shallow end for the younger ones, and even more. And, if you’re feeling like sunbathing a bit, there are multiple grassy areas and lounge chairs where you can lie down, read a book, and watch the kids, for the most relaxing afternoon.

This park is a beautiful spot of nature in the midst of the city. It’s a great place to take a jog on the running trail and, of course, a perfect location to host casual parties and family gatherings. It has the classics of any park - a play space, picnic tables, and large sprawling areas of grass - perfect for whatever you want to do in the area!
