6. Hike the Tongue Mountain Range Trails
Tongue Mountain is a series of 9-miles (~14.5 km) of connected peaks on the southward side of Lake George. It offers a spectacular 1,000-foot (305 m), close-up peek into one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. You can see how the colours of the water change as the bottom drops off and the depth increases. You can see fish in the water, and hear the conversations of those paddling below.
The spectacular 1,000-foot (305 m) view comes with the most challenging hiking route. Hiking at Tongue Mountain means steep trails and a steady incline with loose rocks most of the way up.
It is highly recommend to not complete this hike in one day. But if you want to hike on a day trip, bring lots of water and lunch. And never go alone if you have little experience hiking, because some trail marks might be missing.
