This State Park boasts of several miles of trails that are ideal for hikers and sports two beautiful fishing lakes, enjoying proximity to Kings Mountain National Military Park, a major national park. There is no dearth of visitors both local and from outside, who come here when special events are scheduled. The crowd is extremely big in the month of November when the replica of the park’s 1800s Piedmont farm holds live history demonstrations. 7.5 km (4 miles) from Clover, you’ll find the Peach Tree Orchards. They sell fresh produce (not only peaches) and their ice cream has a great reputation. They also sell a caramel root beer worth tasting. The place is clean and fresh and there’s a pavilion where you can rest in the shade and enjoy that peach ice cream. The fresh produce in season includes apples, pumpkins and squash, peaches, cider, and cheeses. Try some of the stone-ground grits.
Convenient to the roadside, they also sell jams, jellies and mixed bags of nuts. Across the road, there are some tables where you can sit and tuck into some the nice fresh fruit available.

The family-owned business describes themselves as the “Home of everything apples.” They have a full calendar and these events range from Fire Pit evenings to Hard Cider Tastings at The Cider Bar. Often they have live music which makes for a pleasant visit.
