Gaffney is a city in the County of Cherokee, South Carolina. It is the number 2 producer of peaches, with California as number 1. To showcase its leading product, a peach festival is held every year. Gaffney is also home to the “Peachoid”, an imposing water tower shaped like a peach and serves as the landmark of Cherokee. Travelers passing by Gaffney can see the tower from afar. The water tower with a tank designed to resemble a peach was built in 1981. The water tower has a capacity of 1 million gallons of water. It is located near Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway and can be seen from afar as one approaches Gaffney.

2. Cherokee Speedway

The Cherokee Speedway is a dirt track that has become a hub for car racing enthusiasts. Racing events are scheduled every Saturday. 4. Cowpens National Battlefield

The Cowpens National Battlefield is where the Americans won against the British army in a battle that decided the Revolutionary War.
