This 5.6 acre (2.3 hectare) Greenville, NC, attraction serves as a learning facility and community venue where different events take place. Be advised, however, that some advance planning is required in order to get a tour, and you should also read the photograph policy on their website beforehand. Some of the museum’s attractions include a typical one-room schoolhouse built in 1903, a country store circa 1879 and a milk house built around 1910.

12. River Park North

A perfect outdoor area to visit, River Park North is a 324 acre (131 hectare) nature park located just down the street from the PGV Airport. It offers a variety of spaces in which to enjoy a wide range of activities, like a sand volleyball court, picnic shelters, camping areas. In addition to all this, there are also five ponds and two piers available for fishing, hiking trails, and wildlife observation platforms where guests can admire the local fauna, like wood ducks or great blue herons. Visitors are encouraged to track the animals they spot on the wildlife checklists that are available online, or at the nature center.
