Tip from Content Creator
Ilfracombe, found right along the North Devon coast, was the perfect ending to my weeklong British summer holiday. We drove to this harbourside town for sunset and sundowners, and much like the rest of our trip, our evening was a little sweet and a little sour, thanks to:
- a light steady drizzle that didn’t help my cold but cleared just in time for sunset.
- a colourful harbour plus low tide, making for the perfect Instagram snaps.
- lengthy and loud queues for the local fish and chips.
- enough seagulls to fear losing my delicious dinner of crab-loaded fries and chilled white wine.
It was the most perfectly imperfect finale to a perfectly imperfect trip. And yet, it was also a humbling reminder that travel (much like life) is not always smooth sailing. You get ill. You get stressed (ahem — driving down Devon’s teeny tiny country lanes). You get soaked hiking in the rain: it’s rich, it’s rounded and it’s messy.

From afar, you’d think The Landmark Theatre is a nuclear power plant but that’s not the case. This Ilfracombe attraction is, in fact, a performing arts theater that was built to replace The Pavilion Theatre, a Victorian-era building partly destroyed in a fire in the 1980s.
Based on that, you can expect to see a wide variety of shows, stage plays, music concerts, and so much more. What is being featured regularly changes so do keep an eye on the theater’s website or Facebook page to keep yourself updated.
