Composed of 292 acres (118 hectares) of forest, ponds, and wetlands, Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve offers a serene place for you to enjoy nature while walking through its 3.5-mile (5.6-kilometer) trails. These trails offer you the chance to see various wildlife living in the preserve like white-tailed deer, beavers, waterfowls, red-tailed hawks, pileated woodpeckers, and great blue herons.

You can rent snowshoes and ski equipment to use on the trails. There are also several public programs and events that the nature preserve hosts, all of which are free of charge.

The museum also hosts several events depending on the season like the annual Christmas tree lighting, Erie County’s bicentennial, and many others. The museum is also open by appointment.
