16. Visit the Brother Jonathan Cemetery

This historic cemetery is a memorial to the lives lost during the sinking of the steamer vessel, Brother Jonathan. On July 30, 1865, 170 passengers and crew members went down with the Pacific Mail ship in Point St. George’s Reef, leaving only 19 survivors aboard a solitary life boat. Today, the Brother Jonathan Cemetery has been designated as a historic landmark.
