1. Visit Davos Klosters Ski Resort
Visit Davos Klosters Ski Resort — the top-rated skiing and snowboarding pit stop. For those new to skiing, you can learn basic skiing skills in an hour long class, then start skiing on the white powdery snow for a smooth ride full of excitement. Just be careful not to go too fast on your first attempt. Experienced skiers will relish the breeze and the coldness of the air.
For those unfamiliar with cold, alpine weather, it is advisable to wear a base layer, such as long underwear, beneath your clothes as the frigid temperatures can get extremely low. And wear winter boots, not your Nike sports shoes, as these too will not protect your feet from the extreme weather.

2. Pay a visit to Kirchner Museum Davos, the local art museum
Really enjoyed this relatively small museum, but with a large selection of works by Kirchner (some of Davos). Also a friendly welcome by museum staff. If you want a change from the slopes, this is an ideal contrast. UKOscar
Kirchner Art Museum was named after Ernst Ludwig Kirchner who lived from 1880 till 1983. Davos inspired him to create a wide repertoire of attractive works, which can be viewed at the museum.

3. Embrace Rinerhorn
Embrace Rinerhorn summit in clouds and experience the freezing coldness in the skies. See glaciers and one can go for skiing on the white powdery snow or even build a snowman for the outward bound and young at heart. It is a place like no other with vastness of space and snow - all for your viewing, photo taking, enjoyment and experience like no other.
However, like a Girl Guide’s motto, “Be prepared”, wear a long base underwear beneath your denims in layers to trap air which acts as a heat insulator. The trick is to wear many layers like scarfs, ear muffs, etc to withstand the frigid coldness of the high Alps. And bring along lip balm to protect your lips from the strong winds from cracking. Smear a few drops of moisturiser too on your face to protect your delicate skin from the howling winds.

4. Visit the botanical garden Alpinum Schatzalp
Rich in flora and fauna, the botanical garden Alpinum Schatzalp has a beautiful waterfall, trees of various colours, and stunning flowers, thus providing eye candy. Many tourists and visitors take the opportunity to snap many photos of the beautifully manicured gardens.
At Alpinum Schatzalp, visitors will enjoy viewing high-altitude flowers native to the Pyrenees, China, New Zealand, Nepal, and Tibet. 3,500 alpine plant species can be found here, and those who’d like to see these plants in flower should plan a visit for June to September, the flowering time of many of these species. The blooms are a welcome change to the otherwise cold climate during winter. The flowers provide a wide array of colours to the environment and surroundings.
Depending on when you visit Switzerland, you may view a panorama of scenic flowers and plants at the botanical garden Alpinum Schatzalp, Davos.

5. Lake Davos
Lake Davos is a small natural lake in Switzerland that is fed by the Rhine and Totalpbach Rivers. Lake Davos is one of the most beautiful lakes in Switzerland, particularly as it is set against the awesome Swiss Alps. There are high altitude pine trees, and clear blue skies with white cumulus clouds. This is one place that you don’t want to miss for a mesmerising look at Mother Nature’s creations. You can spend a leisurely sunny day beside Lake Davos and simply admire the azure blue water against a backdrop of green and other colours.
Lake Davos is also used as a hydropower reservoir, generating electric power for Davos.
A lovely place for a walk in summer or winter; this time we got the bus from town and got off at the far end of the lake, and it took about half an hour to walk back to the other end (we did this as the other side of the lake was in shadow and would have been freezing!) As it was, it was a lovely sunny day for a walk. A couple of restaurants along the way for coffee and a snack if you wish. Gingerjudith
