Notably, much of the sand was shipped to New York City for construction projects that required sand to be used. Recalling this history, the brewery is named after the city’s industrial roots as a sand mining town. The John W. Engeman Theater has been a long-running staple of Northport, New York. This beautiful theater specializes in live-action productions, such as classics like Grease, Annie, Singin’ In The Rain and Jekyll & Hyde. And this isn’t just some knock-off theater either; John W. Engeman Theater gets their actors and actresses directly from Broadway, so you know you’ll be in for a top-notch show. You may be thinking, “But we’re here on vacation with the kids. Is there anything for them?” Yes! They also have a children’s theater that shows special productions of famous kid’s movies, such as a musical version of Madagascar and Dr. Seuss’s The Cat In The Hat, as well as other classics like Cinderella and The Wizard of Oz. The John W. Engeman Theater is a great place for the entire family to see a quality show without the Broadway prices.

4. Escape the room before time runs out at CryptIQ Inc.
Editor’s note: Establishment is permanently closed
Do you think you and your friends are smarter than the average group of friends? Or maybe your friends think they’re smarter than they really are? At CryptIQ Inc. you and a group of friends can prove just how smart you are (or you can prove to them just how smart they aren’t) by trying to decipher clues hidden throughout a room that will eventually lead you to a key that allows you to escape the room, but hopefully before time runs out. They also do themed events such as ‘Grandma’s Basement’, where you must follow the clues hidden within the room to uncover Grandma’s REAL will amongst plenty of fakes and learn what her true wishes were. The CryptIQ Inc. Escape Room is great for puzzle lovers, and that friend that thinks they’re all that. It’s also great for challenging your own brain with problem-solving, observation skills, and trivia.
