Alfa Planetarium is full of interactive games and activities, including an IMAX Theatre with amazing movies and interesting documentaries. Just before you enter the building, there is a large garden where peacocks roam freely. These peacocks are friendly enough to approach for photographs. There is also an aviary - the first in Monterrey and the first in the country to be dedicated to the reproduction of birds. Set aside about three hours for this place if you plan to visit, or prepare to spend five to six hours if you intend to leave no stone unturned. The term “quinceañera” refers to the 15th birthday of a Latina, which is celebrated like an American girl’s sweet 16, except with a church and an altar. Quinseañera Altar situated in the Valle Oriente area was traditionally where the Latinas held their rite of passage. To this day, it still stands as a quinceañera attraction where young girls come to take their pictures on their 15th birthday. Sometimes it also serves as a starting point for marathons.

9. Visit the historic Capilla de Doña Mónica Rodríguez
This historic landmark dates all the way back to 1661, making it the oldest church building in all of Nuevo Leon. In fact, it was the first chapel ever constructed in the state. It was previously called “Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe” which translates to “Our Lady of Guadalupe”. Although it is not well-preserved, the immense history that this infrastructure carries is definitely worth the trip.
