For baseball fans out there, Uni-Trade Stadium is a must-visit. This stadium has been the home of several teams now: the Laredo Lemurs (a baseball team in the American Association; this stadium was their home from 2012 to 2016) and now the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos (a bi-national Mexican League professional baseball team), and the Laredo Roses (a women’s full-contact football team).

In addition to being the home stadiums for the aforementioned teams, the Uni-Trade Stadium also hosts youth soccer leagues, youth and pep baseball games, and concerts. With that said, if you’re a baseball fan and there happens to be a game during your visit, you should drop by. Or if there’s a concert, attend! You’ll have a blast either way. Constructed by Jose Reyes Ortiz between 1829 and 1830, Casa Ortiz Laredo is characterized by its beautiful gardens and breathtaking view of Mexico and the Rio Grande River. This establishment has continued to stand strong despite how many decades have passed, and in 1964, it was acknowledged as a Texas Historical Landmark. Now, Casa Ortiz Laredo is managed by TAMIU and used for various kinds of events.

Meet the renowned and world-recognized Rio Grande Museum that’s housed in one of Laredo’s oldest buildings, situated on the bustling San Agustin Plaza in the downtown area of Laredo. Actually, the noteworthy museum represents a typical Mexican structure built somewhere between 1830 and 1860. What’s pretty curious about the distinguished museum is that it was once the home of a famous rancher who was actually the mayor of Laredo. Rumor has it that it was exactly this structure that used to serve as the capital of the Republic of Rio Grande. How interesting!
