5. Egmont Key State Park

Located at the mouth of Tampa Bay, southwest of Fort DeSoto Beach, Egmont Key State Park is a wildlife refuge and offers a beautiful activity ground for swimming, fishing, wildlife viewing, and picnicking. Visit the park also for its historic significance, with the ruin of Fort Dade, a Spanish–American War era fort and Egmont Key Lighthouse, that has stood since 1858.
