Thanks to the 351-mile (564.88-kilometer) mainline track of Florida East Coast Railway (FEC), it’s impossible not to be lost in awe of the incredible scenery. This class-II regional railroad, which was completed in 1912, winds down from Jacksonville to Miami and is connected to the national railway system. Therefore, it is able to service several points of interest where natural beauty is abundant. More than a century later, it is still an institution that whisks travelers away on gorgeous trips aboard rapid transit.

The railway’s over-sea track going to Key West championed engineering innovations during its construction and is one of the highlights of its entire stretch until today.
