1. Stockport Air Raid Shelters

Explore this labyrinth of tunnels and experience life as it was during 1940s war-time Britain, and find out how these tunnels built in 1939 were able to provide shelter for up to 6,500 people at a time of distress. Opened from 1 pm - 5 pm daily (closed on Mondays, opened from 10 am on Saturday, and 11 am on Sunday and bank holidays), there is plenty of time for you to explore and wander around the original tunnels and learn about authentic stories of locals who have experienced the war.

Stockport Air Raid Shelters

Opening Hours: 1 pm - 5 pm on Tuesdays to Fridays, 10 am - 5 pm on Saturdays, 11 am - 5 pm on Sundays and bank holidays. Closed on Mondays.

2. Bramall Hall

A beautifully restored Tudor Manor house that is dated back to the Middle Ages, Bramall Hall represents over a thousand years of history and it is definitely the place to visit to learn more about the vicinity and its culture. Check out the magnificent architecture, the vintage 16th century wall paintings, and also, the rich history of its previous occupants. 3. Staircase House

Well-known for its rare Jacobean cage-newel staircase which is one of the three surviving ones in the country, find out more about the 15th to 20th centuries in this restored period house which is rumored to be haunted (perhaps by its previous occupants), and how it was restored after a devastating fire. Pop by to the nearby Blackshaw’s Cafe for a local treat after the tour to wrap up the trip!

4. Robinsons Brewery Experience
