Not only does their pastry shop provide traditional Hungarian desserts, but you can even try vegan goulash. Napfenyes, meaning sunshine, offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. In addition to their large menu, they also have seasonal and daily menus so you’ll never get bored eating here.

6. Lexo Bistro

This incredibly popular restaurant is located near Oktogon, just off of Andrassy utca, one of the main shopping areas in Budapest. CsendesM is located in District V, not far from the National Museum. The owners are truly dedicated to sustainability. Everything at CsendesM is free of animal products, additives, and preservatives, while all packaging is 100% biodegradable. Most items on the menu can be made gluten-free and the meals are so delicious you won’t miss meat at all (cauliflower alfredo anyone?). This is probably the least expensive restaurant on this list; you can get a filling meal for less than 3 USD, making it a great option for those traveling on a budget.

DOBRUMBA is a popular Middle Eastern restaurant in the Jewish District near the Great Synangogue. Although they serve meat, they have an abundance of vegan and vegetarian options.
