Austin is the fourth largest city in the United States and is the capital city of Texas. Founded in the 1830s as pioneers started to settle in the area along the Colorado River, Austin was chosen to replace Houston as the capital of the Republic of Texas. The city is large and has an eclectic mix of diversity mainly from the tech entrepreneurs, politicians, college students, and a vibrant LGTB community. Austin has lots to see and do with tons of live music around and with the world renowned festival Austin City Limits. The city is popularly known as the “live music capital of the world”. 1. Bouldin Creek Cafe

The Bouldin Creek Cafe is one of Austin’s best vegan and vegetarian cafes. Showing both vegetarians and non-vegetarians that vegan food can be both delicious and filling, the cafe also has a team of baristas that can make even the most complicated coffee orders. All the coffee served here is locally roasted and organic Fair Trade.

2. Cenote


The building that Cenote is situated in is actually a part of Austin history. Appearing on the first hand-drawn map of the city, this building was built in 1887 and now the Cenote cafe has kept the building’s heritage intact. Cenote serves amazing food and coffee made from local Texas producers on top of which, they also have a liquor license. So in the evening, you can grab a refreshing beer or cocktail at the cafe.

3. Le Cafe Crepe


Le Cafe Crepe opened in 1999 and has since brought a little taste of Paris to Texas. The owner studied in the famed French city and then returned home to Canada, where he and a friend started by opening the first Cafe Crepe restaurant. Now they are all over North America and expanding into Asia as well. A great spot for a delicious European-style coffee or French crepe for breakfast!

Take a step back in time at the 1886 Cafe and Bakery. Made to feel like a Victorian-era parlor, this restaurant serves up some amazing Texas-favorite comfort foods and of course, delicious coffee. The small little kiosk serves some of the best coffee around Austin and there are few locations around town so you’ll never be that far away from a Jo’s Coffee. Since the beginning, they set out to only serve some of the best homestyle food that’s healthy and affordable in a cool and welcoming atmosphere.
