Located within Garibaldi Provincial Park, this spot sits in a serene area and doesn’t offer luxury facilities. On the contrary, campers should expect spartan pit toilets and food hang facilities.

Inexperienced hikers might find this challenging, but experienced campers will find Helm Creek an ideal spot to explore the area. This site is also a good base for those who want to visit Black Tusk.

2. Cheakamus Lake Campground

Cheakamus Lake Campground is located just under 2 miles (3 kilometres) from the parking lot of Garibaldi Provincial Park. Open all year round, it offers 10 camping spots that need to be reserved in advance as they fill up quickly.

Pit toilets and food hang facilities are available on site. In the morning, unzip your tent and take in all the beauty of the placid Cheakamus Lake within the park. The trail here is relatively flat, making it ideal for all campers.

3. Singing Creek Campground

Situated on the north-western bank of Cheakamus Lake is Singing Creek Campground. Open all year round, it offers only seven tent spots, making it the smallest campground in the area. There’s a pit toilet and food hang facilities available for campers to use.

The site is open all year round and accepts walk-ins whenever possible. All RV sites have picnic tables and fire pits, while campsites boast convenient amenities such as restrooms, showers and drinking water stations.

6. Garibaldi Lake Campground

Reservations are mandatory to secure one of 50 tent sites available at Garibaldi Lake Campground. Alongside pit toilets and food hanging facilities, this year-round site offers four-day-use cooking shelters complete with two picnic tables and a wash sink with a grey water disposal unit.

The imposing Mount Garibaldi towers over its namesake lake. Visitors are invited to enjoy the many hiking opportunities available in the area.

7. Cal-Cheak Recreation Site

Situated in a heavily forested area, Cal-Cheak Recreation Site operates on a first-come, first-served system basis as no bookings are accepted. It offers 55 campsites divided into 3 separate areas: Callaghan Camp, the North and the South sites.

Only open from April to October, this campground requires a fixed fee of 15 CAD (12 USD). This site is ideal for all kinds of campers, and guests can access restrooms, outhouses and bear caches, safe places where to store and shield food from black bears that populate the area.
