If you are looking for a great camping site, the 1000 Islands Camping Resort is the ideal place for you. Set centrally in the 1,000 Islands, it is just 8 km (5 mi) from Gananoque. The campsite offers different options for camping, such as tent sites and RV sites. There are also playgrounds to woo the younger campers.

Located only a few minutes from the U.S. border, the site also enjoys close proximity to local eateries, the river, and golf courses. The pet-friendly campground operates from May to October and features a movie theater, laundry facilities, and pools, among other amenities.

5. Wellesley Island State Park

Wellesley Island State Park is a tiny island of its own and features some scenic inlets. It has the distinction of being the Thousand Islands’ largest state park. There are as many as 48 campsites in the Keewaydin State Park & Marina, which overlooks the river. The terrain of the park features rocky and steep outcroppings between the shoreline and the campground, thus making it easy to watch the ships that are sailing to the ocean via the river. When you stay here, you will ve very close to the casino and premier golfing. It is easy to visit the castles, historic forts, beaches, and national parks during your stay. There are other facilities like two heated swimming pools. serene gardens, fantastic sundecks, and a hot tub for kids among others.
