1. Dirt Flat Campground

Dirt Flat campground is remotely located on the northern side of Merced River. Surrounded by Sierra Nevada’s alpine landscape and rolling oak-covered foothills, it features walk-in tent sites. Facilities include fire rings, grills, and picnic tables. For your convenience, vault toilets are available. The area is a popular destination during spring and summer, especially the river for kayaking and white-water rafting. Many guided rafting trips are available, so make sure that you take advantage of the opportunity during your stay here.

2. Dry Gulch Campground

Situated on Merced River a few minutes away from Yosemite National Park, Dry Gulch Campground provides guests with convenient river access. Its remote location guarantees a peaceful camping experience, especially for those who are in need of quiet, relaxing downtime. Open throughout the year, it accommodates a maximum of 6 people in each campsite for a maximum of 14 days per stay. It has fire rings, grills, picnic tables, and vault toilets. However, drinking water is not available on site.

3. Camp 4

Operating on a first-come-first-served basis, Camp 4 is open year-round. It is packed from spring through fall, so if you are staying during this time, you should register with the campground ranger before setting up camp. Each campsite can accommodate up to six people. Throughout the year, it has a 30-night limit per stay. Of these 30 nights, a maximum of 14 can be spent during the peak season between May and September. There are 35 shared walk-in campsites are available, each equipped with 4 shared food lockers, a firepit, and a picnic table.

4. Porcupine Flat Campground

Porcupine Flat Campground is typically open from July through October, operating on a first-come-first-served basis. It has 52 tent campsites, each featuring a fire ring, food locker, and picnic table. While no potable water is provided, stream water is available but requires treatment. You can treat water using iodine, or by boiling and filtering. All campsites have quick access to vault toilets. In group campsites, you will find 6 food lockers for 13 to 30 people each.

With 52 tent campsites, Tamarack Flat Campground operates on a first-come-first-served basis. Each campsite accommodates up to 6 people, except for the group campsite that is suitable for 13 to 30 people. All campsites are equipped with fire rings, food lockers, and picnic tables. Since potable water is unavailable, you may use stream water for drinking provided that you treat it first. Pets are allowed here except in the group campsite, and they should be on a leash at all times.

6. Tuolumne Meadows Campground

Beautifully situated in Tuolumne Meadows, Tuolumne Meadows Campground is usually open between July and September. It is home to 304 campsites for RVs and tents which can accommodate RVs up to 10.6-m (35-ft) long; 7 group campsites; and 4 horse sites which can accommodate trailers up to 8.2-m (27-ft) long. Half of all regular campsites are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Meanwhile, all other campsites require reservations. All campsites have nearby bathrooms with toilets and drinking water.

Only 30 minutes away from Yosemite National Park’s Arch Rock Entrance, Indian Flat RV Campground offers 25 campsites for RVs and 25 campsites for tents. These RV campsites have electricity and water, while some have sewers. If you are looking for a more comfortable experience, you may stay in one of its two cabins. These cabins are equipped with beds, cable TVs, ceiling fans, kitchenettes, and private bathrooms. During your stay here as a camper, you are allowed to access the outdoor swimming pool of the lodge right next door.

Yosemite Westlake Campground & RV Park features 21 full hookup RV campsites that can each accommodate RVs with a length of 12.1 m (40 ft). It is about 38.6 km (24 mi) away from Yosemite National Park, but there are many activities you can enjoy nearby such as cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and horseback riding. Open year-round, it offers restroom and shower facilities. Most of its campsites have picnic tables, too. Within a 0.8 km (0.5-mi) radius, you will find a laundry facility and restaurant.
