The food in Philadelphia does not disappoint either - it’s famous for its soft pretzels and cheesesteaks, a beefsteak and melted cheese sandwich. Chinese cuisine is also extremely popular in Philadelphia and for good reason! It has a well-populated Chinatown that is naturally home to some authentic Chinese cuisine that will satisfy your cravings. Xiang Gourmet was opened in 2008. It’s one of five restaurants of the same name, the others being in New York and New Jersey. They prepare traditional Hunan dishes and pride themselves on setting high standards for authentic Chinese food. Some of their most popular dishes are rare and aren’t commonly prepared in the city. These include frog with chilli and steamed eggplant. Their diced chicken with chilli pepper and peanuts, tilapia and homemade sticky rice are also popular picks. Overall, they might be a little pricier than other places but the food is definitely worth it.

Their food is great solace during the wintertime as the flavour and warmth really keep you cosy. In addition, if you’re new to Chinese cuisine and don’t know how to proceed then they’ll show you the ropes. Please note that they only accept cash and that it gets quite crowded.
