This saloon-style cocktail bar is themed after American vaudeville, complete with a swinging bar door, low-hanging lamps, and Victorian wallpaper, and is named after the real-life exploits of a Missouri criminal from the nineteenth century. The drinks menu is imaginative and diverse, with options like the bourbon-based Horse’s Neck and John’s Monkey, made with banana-infused scotch. Anklerklause is a Berlin institution! It’s a boat-themed bar over the water between the hip neighbourhoods of Kreuzberg and Neukölln. It has a basic kitchen for classic bar food, including vegetarian options. They have a big terrace for sitting outside in good weather and in the evenings the vibe can be very fun, with music ranging from anything from 80’s classics to rap to house music.
