Step back into the past at Stagger Lee. This saloon-style cocktail bar is themed after American vaudeville, complete with a swinging bar door, low-hanging lamps, and Victorian wallpaper, and is named after the real-life exploits of a Missouri criminal from the nineteenth century. The drinks menu is imaginative and diverse, with options like the bourbon-based Horse’s Neck and John’s Monkey, made with banana-infused scotch. In addition to inventive cocktails, Stagger Lee also offers twists on conventional classics like the Montezuma Negroni and uses many innovative infusions and syrups that are made in-house. This superb bar is run by California transplant Kevin Brown and is named in honor of the owner’s home state and the beautiful bar top made out of a slab of Redwood. Inspired by the drinks of American Prohibition, the cocktails here are elegant and strong, and the menu is arranged by the base spirit of each cocktail. Unlike many other bars in the city, Redwood Bar Berlin is a non-smoking establishment.

A speakeasy-style bar, Buck and Breck is one of Berlin’s coolest bars to check out! Located between a police station and Doris Bistro in the neighborhood of Mitte, you must first find the inconspicuous door buzzer to ring before you can be let inside this exclusive establishment. Once you enter, there are only 14 seats available, all grouped around the central black bar. While the menu here is small, the bartender can whip up anything you would like.
