Saks Holdings, Inc. has been around since 1867, but the more recognizable name, Saks Fifth Avenue, refers to their flagship store in New York City, which, as you might have guessed, is located on Fifth Avenue. The store was founded by German-Jewish brothers Andrew and Isadore, and by 1896, they had expanded into other cities.
