Diamond’s Hotel Rzemieślnik, located only a 10-minute walk from Zakopane Krupowki, the main street of Zakopane, Poland, offers cozy accommodation with vintage aesthetics. It is definitely a great choice for history lovers, as it is a four storey building with no elevator and Soviet decoration. If you choose to stay at this hotel, you will feel Polish hospitality, taste some traditional Polish dishes, and meet interesting people - mostly skiers - in one of its three lounges.
Modern amenities, Soviet decoration
Upon entering the hotel you will feel the hospitality from the coziness of the place and the friendliness of the staff. The building is a well-maintained four floor building without an elevator. The old carpet covering the stairs and the wooden floors will take you back in time.
There are various kinds of rooms, which have been recently renovated. On the first floor, rooms are spacious and luminous while on the third floor, rooms are smaller but have a great view of the Tatra Mountains. Some rooms have a balcony. All rooms have basic decoration and they are equipped with a TV, a radiator, and a small closet. All rooms have a private bathroom with a shower and free toiletries and towels are also available.
The hotel offers free access to a small gym located on the third floor that provides some exercise machines and a ping pong table. Here is a great place not only to exercise but to socialize as well.
For those who rely on internet for work, free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the hotel. Additionally, luggage storage, ski storage and dry cleaning service are provided.
It is compulsory to book at least one meal when you book a room.
Three lounges
You can find three different lounges at the Diamond’s Hotel Rzemieślnik. On the first floor, there is an old style living room with salmon colored leather sofas and a table. This is the most relaxing area of the hotel. On the second floor, there are some 90’s arcade games, a foosball table, and a colorful vintage sofa. This lounge feels like a walk down memory lane. On the third floor, you can play pool or go to the gym. Inside the gym (get the key from reception to enter), there is a ping pong table, three exercise machines, a treadmill, and an elliptical machine.
On the fourth floor, there is a meeting room that is available for rent for meetings or parties. There is also a terrace that has amazing views to the mountains. I totally recommend going outside on the terrace to enjoy the view and take some photos.
Perfect location
The Diamond’s Hotel Rzemieślnik is located in central Zakopane, about a 10 minute walk from the popular Krupówki Street. It is 2.8 km (~1.7 mi) away from Mount Gubałówka and 1 km (0.62 mi) away from the Wielka Krokiew ski slope.
Modern rooms mix with vintage decoration
Zakopane is very popular to visit in winter; therefore, I recommend booking early in order to find a place to stay. I recommend Hotel Diamonds for its central location, but also because it is a warm, welcoming, and friendly hotel with Soviet style.
Here you will also have the chance to taste traditional Polish food. A typical meal includes a soup of the day, a main dish that is usually meat accompanied with salad, and for dessert you can choose between sweets or fruit. Every morning there is a breakfast buffet with local delicacies, such as various types of cheese and ham.
