1. Widow Jane Distillery


Taking the name of a limestone mine owner’s widow, Widow Jane Distillery is located on 218 Conover Street in Brooklyn and utilizes pure limestone-filtered water with mineral content to produce its awesome whiskeys and liquors. The whole production process, which involves ageing, barreling, blending and packaging, is all accomplished in-house using traditional distillery methods invented by Daniel Preston, who is the owner and founder of the distillery. Enjoy their bourbons or perhaps one of their craft beers, and learn about how the passionate founder and owner is a former aerospace engineer.

2. Port Morris Distillery


Rafael Barbosa and William Valentin merged their passions and efforts to establish Port Morris Distillery in 2010, in the Port Morris region of South Bronx. They produce a spirit called pitorro, a special Puerto Rican moonshine distilled from a family recipe that has been passed down for generations. It is composed of honey, brown sugar and apples. Together, they have curated a total of 92 spirits that are all unique, fine and smooth. In fact, pitorro is a gem on the island of Puerto Rico, only savoured during special occasions or holidays.

Also located in Brooklyn, Greenhook Ginsmiths is the renowned producer of Beach Plum Gin Liqueur, Old Tom Gin, and Greenhook Ginsmiths Gin, which are all amazing American gins. They also produce signature cocktails such as The Swank, Kingsland Colaba, DuPont Rising, Garden District, The Martinez, and The Left Flank. The journey of these authentic American gins and cocktails began in 2010 when two brothers, Steven and Philip DeAngelo, embarked on a mission to create and put out quality gin on the market. After two years, they established a new distillery in the Greenpoint region of Brooklyn and began production.

Kings County Distillery is nestled at Brooklyn Navy Yard and specializes in the production of unique American liquor like rye whiskey, corn whiskey, and bourbon whiskey, among others. Established in 2009 by David Haskell and Colin Spoelman, the award-winning business started production in April 2010 from their magnificent 330-square-feet (31-square-meter) property before moving to the historic Paymaster Building at Brooklyn Navy Yard in 2012.
