Astoria Skate Park, a favorite spot for Queen’s skateboarders, is a 21,500 square feet (1997 square meter) located amidst Astoria Park’s tall trees and rolling hills. 3. Allerton Skatepark

While Allerton Skatepark is of the small side, measuring 6,000 square feet (557 square meters), it still has some trick-inviting features. The unsupervised skateboarding venue is located on Bronx Park East, and comes with a lot of surfaces, including grind rails, a skate pyramid, ledges, bank ramps, and a quarter pipe, to practice tricks on. Also, wrist guards, elbow and knee pads, and a helmet are required if you’re under 18.

4. Hamilton Bridge Skate Park

Introverted skateboarders prefer the Highbridge Skatepark, tucked under the Hamilton Bridge, overlooking Harlem River. McCarren Park is a 35-acre (14-hectare) quaint venue, housing sports fields, courts, and a lovely skatepark. London Planetree Skate Park is a relatively new skateboarding venue in Queens, which opened in 2013 and welcomed skateboarders, in-line skaters, bikes, and scooters. The 10,000 square feet (962 square meter) space features concrete obstacles with metal toppings. These structures include hubba ledges, a euro gap, different pad sizes, and a lengthy quarter pipe — arranged for you to show your skateboarding prowess.

8. LES Coleman Skatepark

LES Coleman Skatepark — also known as Coleman or Chinatown Skatepark is Manhattan’s popular skating venue, where you’re most likely to spot the sport’s notable figures. The lively platform, designed with the help of California Skateparks, is situated under the Manhattan Bridge, overlooking the East River, and next to a beautiful kids’ playground. It underwent the much-required renovation in 2013, including replacing the plastic ramps with cement and marble. 9. Riverside Skate Park

Riverside Skate Park offers a safe ground for extreme skateboarding tricks and other sports, including biking and in-line skating. One of the best in the Upper West Side, the beautiful skatepark, was designed by Andy Kessler, a skateboarding star. The space highlights a concrete surface and nine-steel structures to ride on and through. You won’t be disappointed with the challenging 10-foot (3-meter) wooden pipe with vert, a quarter pipe, railings, and ramps. After you’re done, you can hit the on-site walking trail and explore the gorgeous environment, or play softball. Restrooms are also provided for your convenience.

10. Bruckner Skate Park

If you’re just a beginner in skateboarding, you can start in this small concrete skatepark. Bruckner Skate Park, also called Throggs Neck, is tucked in eastern Bronx’s Bruckner Playground. The unsupervised skateboarding venue boasts many obstacles to keep you engaged, from banks to quarter pipes. You’ll also find a manual pad, a hubba, and a fun box. The area also highlights many other ways to have fun, including a kids’ playground, basketball courts, and more.
