Located in the energetic heart of the UK’s Liverpool, the Britannia Adelphi Hotel offers an elegant and refined base from which to explore the city’s many interesting attractions. Sophisticated rooms are coupled with excellent hotel facilities for a comfortable stay. The historic building effortlessly blends period décor with modern touches.

Here are some reasons to choose the Britannia Adelphi Hotel when visiting Liverpool:

Attractive rooms that provide a great night’s sleep

One of the biggest hotels in Liverpool, the Britannia Adelphi Hotel has 408 well-appointed guest rooms. All rooms have a private bathroom.

Spacious standard rooms for two people are available with either a double bed or two single beds. Whilst rooms certainly aren’t cheap, at around 110.50 GBP (approximately 165 USD) per night, the high standards of comfort are well-worth the cost. Soft beds and plush pillows help you drift off to sleep, and rooms also have a separate seating area with two chairs and a coffee table. Start your day with a hot drink (tea and coffee making facilities are provided) before sitting at the large dressing table to spruce yourself up. An in-room trouser press makes sure that you look dapper at all times! Rooms also have a TV and a telephone. Even larger Executive Double Rooms are available for around 170.50 GBP (approximately 254 USD) per night.

Lexx Rooms, in a different part of the large hotel, are the most budget-friendly option. With the same facilities as a Standard Twin Room, the price per night is around 96 GBP (approximately 143 USD).

Travelling with two mates? No problem! There are Standard Triple Rooms available for around 110.50 (approximately 165 USD) per night. Room features are the same as for double / twin rooms but with an additional bed and chair.

Various suites are available for added luxury, with nightly prices from 170.50 GBP (approximately 254 USD) to 190.50 GBP (approximately 284 USD).

Pale and neutral hues on the walls, stylish curtains, crisp bed linen, stylish wall pictures, soft lighting, and cushions in muted shades, all help to add to the warm, cosy, and classy ambience within the rooms.

A beautiful building with lots of history and up-to-date facilities

The building was constructed in 1826, and the hotel has built a solid reputation and served many satisfied customers over its many years in operation. Today’s guests can still admire many of the original graceful features, such as opulent chandeliers, wide and sweeping staircases, lavish halls with polished marble, large windows, and lovely carved and engraved details.

Plush carpets and comfortable furnishings in communal areas make visitors feel at home.

The shimmering indoor swimming pool is made from white marble and guests can enjoy some TLC in the steam room, sauna, spa bath, and solarium. For even more pampering, head to Spindles Spa for a range of beauty and spa treatments. (Extra charges apply.) There is also a hair salon and a modern fitness centre.

When it comes to dining, terrific onsite restaurants ensure that you won’t go hungry. Tuck into a hearty buffet at Jenny’s Carvery Restaurant or check out Compton’s Restaurant for the finest in French cuisine in a high-class setting. Whether you want a casual atmosphere or all the trimmings of fine dining, the restaurants in the Britannia Adelphi Hotel offer something to suit everyone.

Sip cocktails or pre-dinner drinks in Jenny’s Bar, relax with a pint and watch televised sports in the laid-back Wave Bar, or keep the party going in the late-night American Bar.

Various meal packages are available when you book your stay; why not make life easier and arrange your breakfast or evening meal in advance?

Excellent city centre location close to many fantastic sights

The Britannia Adelphi Hotel is located close to the impressive St George’s Hall, a neoclassical gem that boasts grand halls and once served as a city court. Opened in 1954 as a dual venue for concerts and legal matters, it stands on the site of Liverpool’s very first hospital. The basement is home to old prison cells that were used to house prisoners waiting to be led up the wooden stairs and into the dock. The square in front of the magnificent building has several statues, including fearsome-looking stone lions and one of Prince Albert mounted on horseback.

The famous Albert Dock, with its museums, shops, and excellent views, is just a short walk away from the hotel. The Wheel of Liverpool can also be found in this area; take a ride and enjoy panoramic views of some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and the lively waterfront. Visit the Pier Head and admire the three eye-catching buildings known as the Three Graces; the Port of Liverpool Building, the Cunard Building, and the Royal Liver Building. Cast your gaze upwards and look at the strange stone creatures perched on top of the Royal Liver Building – these are known as Liver Birds!

With two cathedrals, numerous churches, a pumping night scene, world-class shopping, numerous museums and galleries, and historical buildings galore, there are so many great things to do when staying in Liverpool’s Britannia Adelphi Hotel.

A good option for corporate and business guests too

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the hotel, although you may find the signal in the rooms a little weak. Large overstuffed seats in the lobby area are ideal for surfing the net if the in-room Wi-Fi isn’t so great.

Several meeting rooms are available, all with high-tech equipment, such as modern AV systems. The modern and well-equipped conferencing facilities can hold up to 850 attendees.

Liverpool Lime Street Train Station is just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, making getting there really easy.

Whether visiting Liverpool for business or for pleasure, stay at the atmospheric Britannia Adelphi Hotel and enjoy top-class amenities and hospitality.
