Relax and rejuvenate in the 19th-century gardens of the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I in Barcelona, Spain. In 1992, just a few days before the Barcelona Olympic Games, the hotel was inaugurated by the King and Queen of Spain. The newly renovated hotel turns 25 this year with elegance and sophistication. It is the only hotel in Barcelona that can welcome guests with its own private helicopter pad.

Upon entering the grand 16 floor hotel, you are greeted with a four-tiered center piece surrounded by Gaudí floor tiles. The tiles are a reminder of the history and style of Catalan culture. Just past the centerpiece sits the inspiring and elegant lobby lounge and B24 restaurant and bar.

The white, grey, and cream décor is accented with gold throughout the area. Four hundred low lights give the lobby area an intimate and cozy feeling. The additional two hundred lights above the bar add to the modern design. In the evening, these lights appear almost like stars in the building.

Relax in the afternoon listening to live music being played on the baby grand piano. The evening brings an energetic feel with when the DJ is playing music.

Four elevators are available to take you up the 16 floors of the hotel. Two facing the lobby have floor to ceiling glass, allowing views of the chic and classy atrium. Once in your room, you can revel in some of the best views of Barcelona. With 432 rooms and suites in the hotel, there is something to suit every one’s desires.

Seven different contemporary style floor plans with 383 rooms and 49 suites are available. All with natural colors, warm undertones, and chrome accents complete the 432 room hotel. The uniquely large windows present unparalleled views of Barcelona. The tranquil and serene sophisticated rooms are decorated by art pieces inspired by Barcelona. All rooms and suites are equipped with a flat-screen TV, high-speed Internet access, individually controlled air conditioning, a large sink, luxurious bedding, and a mini bar.

It also has a separate entrance to avoid guest going into the bedroom area of the room. It is ideal for meetings or personal gatherings.

The 120 m² (1,292 ft²) presidential suite contains a large bedroom and spacious lounge with conference table. One of the largest suites in Barcelona is the 450 m² (4,844 ft²) Royal Suite. Hello! My name is Perry, originally from the heart of Belgium, famed for its waffles and fries. However, it wasn't just the call of the Spanish sun that brought to Barcelona, but rather a captivating encounter with a German-Uruguayan beauty in Thailand. This led to the birth of our son in Ibiza, and eventually, more than two decades ago, I found myself in the vibrant city of Barcelona. My passion for meeting people from different nationalities and cultures, coupled with an insatiable appetite for adventure, has empowered me to transform ordinary days into extraordinary stories. In 2020, I embarked on a new journey by starting my own sightseeing company, showcasing the wonders of Barcelona to people from all over the world. With nine years of guiding experience in this magnificent city, I am thrilled to share its beauty and hidden gems with you.
