Tip from tour guide
Enhance your stay at this royal accommodation by visiting the Alhambra, only about a 20-minute drive away. The best time to visit is during sunset. While here, you may come across one of the feline residents of the palace. I guess we all have a weakness and, for me, it's the Alhambra cats. They belong to a colony protected and cared for by the monument. They rid the palace of pests and are already a symbol, so the Alhambra wouldn't be the same without them. I have personally christened one as Narciso as his efforts for fishing in the pond are comparable to the level of love that Narciso felt for himself, which ultimately turned him into a flower.
If you're planning your trip, be sure to book your visit in advance instead of going for last-minute tickets.

Tip from tour guide
The nearby Alhambra hosted the grand Feast of Mawlid in 1362 under Ibn al-Jatib. In front of the throne located in the Mexuar, a large space was made available for the horoscope, the singer, and the dancers performing Sufi Dhikr. The party started in the afternoon and lasted until dawn. To keep track of time, the Sultan ordered an "extraordinary clock", a complex clock that marked the passage of time through a lit candle, and in which "every time the hour passed, the little pebble fell onto the plate on which it resonated. You open the spot and you get the piece of paper, and so until the end of the night".
