Ramen is a Japanese meal that has become quite popular across the world. However, the dish actually originated in China. Later it was modified by the Japanese to become the dish it is today. It consists of Chinese style wheat noodles, cooked in a meat or fish based broth. The original flavours include shōyu (soy sauce), shio (salt), miso and curry, but they have been redefined in a wide number of styles. They are usually topped with additional ingredients like sliced pork, dried seaweed, and green onions. Malaysia, and other South East Asian nations are also quite fond of Ramen, and have modified it to suit their own taste buds. This led to the widespread cooking of Halal Ramen, which essentially means permissible or lawful ramen recipes in accordance to the Islamic dietary laws. Take a break from the usual fine-dining restaurants just this time and try the ramen at Ayam-YA. Ayam means chicken in the local language. Ayam-Ya has been serving delicious ramen since 2005. They prepare ramen soup from scratch, instead of the usual pre-cooked meals that most food courts serve in the area. They cook the chicken bones for hours to make a broth with rich chicken flavour. In addition to the broth, all the items are freshly made including the kara-age, teriyaki chicken and the chicken cutlets. Due to the taste preferences of the country, they serve ramen typically spicier than the regular ramen. They also have an outlet at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport KLIA2.

2. Ichiban Ramen
Ichiban Ramen has become quite the household name for halal ramen, as it was established in 2002 in Kuala Lumpur City Center. It started as a humble kitchen that served only the most basic of items like ramen, fried rice, and gyoza. But it has quickly expanded to form 18 stores across Malaysia, including places like Klang Valley, Taiping, Penang, Malacca, and Johor Baharu. They are quite diligent in their preparations as they use noodles sourced from Japanese noodle specialists in order to create the most authentic meals possible. Despite the effort, they are quite moderately priced. They also provide catering.
