Hilton is known as a reputable hotel chain; some people always look for a Hilton Hotel when traveling to a new destination. When you visit West Java, Indonesia’s capital city of Bandung, I suggest you stay at this international hotel chain. If you are a fan of Hilton Hotels, you are lucky, as there is really no need to look for any other hotels; there is Hilton in Bandung!

Centrally located new hotel

Hilton Hotels are known to be premium hotels, and Hilton Bandung is no an exception. It is a centrally-located, beautiful and relatively new hotel (it opened 2009) and the good news is that it is just 15 minutes away from Husein Sastranegara International Airport, and the train station is about 20 minutes on foot. This hotel has everything needed to ensure you have an unforgettable stay.

Spacious lobby with a futuristic design

The exterior of the hotel is a simple tall building with the famous Hilton sign, when you enter the lobby area, you will be impressed. The lobby is spacious with fascinating interior design. Different from a regular four-sided or rounded pillar, the pillar was designed in such a way that it really looks twisted (imagine a twisted piece of cloth), and the spiral staircase to the second floor of the lobby is a nice touch. I also like the glass floor with its blue lights. It’s hard to find a building with this kind of futuristic interior design in Bandung and it is nice to spend your time in the lobby, especially when you order a cocktail (like the delicious lychee martini!) from the bar, Magma Lounge.

Comfortable room with big beds

Rates start from 1,250,000 IDR (95.16 USD) for a deluxe room, including breakfast and amenities include an LED TV, Wi-Fi, a safety box, slippers and a scale. I especially want to highlight the wardrobe, as it lights up as you open it. This is certainly something most other luxury hotels in Bandung don’t have!

If you have been to a Hilton Hotel, there is one thing you will notice, the spaciousness of the room and the bigger size of the mattress. If you are a family of 4, then this is a perfect room for you, as two people can comfortably fit in each bed.

Lavish breakfast buffet

At Purnawarman Restaurant, you will have extensive selections of local, Asian and Western foods, accompanied by fresh fruits and salads, cake and ice cream (it’s one of the largest breakfast buffet in the city).

I especially love the Balinese sour chili called sambal matah (made of shallots, hot pepper and lemon), which goes well with all types of deep-fried Indonesian foods, especially ayam goreng, fried chicken heavily seasoned with local spices such as coriander and galangal.

Fresco, one of the few Italian restaurants in Bandung

If you love Italian food, then you are in the right spot. No need to go anywhere else in Bandung, as the hotel has an Italian restaurant, named Fresco, located next to the swimming pool.

They have a large variety of good steaks, pizza and pasta, but if you want to try something you’ve never tried before, go ahead and order beef rendang pizza. I guess it doesn’t sound familiar to you, right? Well, it’s a pizza with Indonesian flavor, where the pizza is topped with rendang, beef sautéed with coconut milk and herbs! Savory and refreshing are the 2 words to describe the flavors!

If you aren’t in the mood for Italian, Hilton Hotel is located close to Paskal Hyper Square, where there is a big food court, with many food choices. Additionally, there are also many eateries around the hotel. In fact, near the hotel, there is a very famous bakery shop, Kartika Sari, known for its pisang bolen, or banana bread, and at night you can find lots of good foods at Gardujati Street and Cibadak Street.

Artsy swimming pool

Bandung is cooler in temperature than Jakarta, but in the afternoon you still may want to go for a swim. The Hilton Bandung Hotel has a swimming pool located on the 6th floor.

The large swimming pool is very clean and artsy. The lazy chairs resemble rattan houses with a big sofa inside, and each house was made to look like a figure of a fish head opening its mouth! So remember to bring your swimming suit before staying at this hotel!

Kids are happy too!

kids are happy too!

In Hilton Bandung Hotel, both adults and children are well taken care of. Besides the kid-friendly buffet, they also provide a kid’s club room, where children under 12 years of age can enter for free and play building blocks or paint. They are watched by patient and attentive staff (you can safely leave your kids and tell the staff when you want to pick them up). Almost every night, they play children’s movies to make sure the kids are as happy as their parents!

Top notch service

I think the hotel’s greatest asset is its staff. Every single staff member, from the concierge, to the chefs, and the bellmen, are helpful and friendly and will never walk past you without a greeting. Many of them speak really good English, so you won’t have any difficulties in asking for directions or making a special request for important moments like birthdays. Now you know there is Hilton Hotel in Bandung!
