Dos Gatos has gained a reputation as the go-to hipster bar in Jacksonville. But what if you’re not a hipster or not fond of hipsters, should you still try out this bar? Our answer to that is a resounding yes! For one, the crowd is quite cool and laidback, no pretentious people here. Everyone’s here to have fun, enjoy amazing cocktails and great music. We recommend their signature drinks such as the Le Pomme et Le Poire, Orange Jalapeno Margarita, and Raspberry Lagerita. But you should also try out their house favorites such as the Bourbon Soul Smash, New Zealander, and Pura Vida. XO Lounge is a great choice if you’re seeking a more upscale experience. It’s a popular nightclub that offers a valet service, which attracts executives and business people from diverse backgrounds. The Roost isn’t for everyone, as it may seem a bit too old school for some tastes. But if you can handle strong alcohol and a smoke-filled environment, then this establishment should be right up your alley. DJs play a wide variety of music, expect to hear everything from country, rock, metal, through to hip hop. There are several pool tables and a dartboard here, so enjoy a game or two if you have the skills. Keep in mind that they only sell drinks such as draft beers, green tea, and whiskeys. Locals also love their special events such as their Halloween party, New Years’ party, Thanksgiving party, and ugly sweater party.
