Since you'll be staying so close to the Batu Caves, do give it a visit! This cave complex is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India and is dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is free to enter and you can climb 272 steep steps to reach the entrance to the shrine.
On my last visit in 2018, all the steps were grey. They have since been painted in vibrant rainbow colours. When I was last there, it was also a must to cover shoulders and legs to be allowed to enter the caves. The next time, no such rule was in place and there were dozens of people in shorts and T-shirts. I’m not sure why the modesty rule has been lifted. There are also lots of monkeys in the caves, but you're not allowed to feed them.
