1. Chef's Table

Posted by Vikas Singh on Friday, 22 November 2019

If there’s one thing Chef’s Table nails, it is its Indian flavours. Although, not to say that there aren’t other great things about the place, but the food definitely tops the list. Right from Indian chaat dishes to gourmet curries, the restaurant has it all. Plus, the presentation is simply delightful, and the service is top-notch. Among the many dishes that are most famous here are the tandoori salmon, dhaba chicken, and lamb chops for the main course and falooda kulfi for dessert. Chef’s Table offers an all-you-can-eat buffet during its lunch hours every day, which features new entrees daily and a different menu every two weeks—might make for a good way to try a variety of the house specialties.

Indian fare is not all about the tasty tikkas and comforting curries. The cuisine also includes South Indian delicacies, which are not always boldly spiced and ideal for those with softer palates. Swagath Gourmet has mastered its South Indian specialties—and how! Try the rava onion masala dosa, medu vada, bisibele bhaat, or the Mysore thali, and you’ll know for yourself that these claims are accurate. What the place lacks in ambience, it more than makes up for it in its hearty flavours, so do come by.

3. Amma's Kitchen

Weekday's Non-veg Thali #ammaunavagam #ammaskitchenus #indianthali #edison #chicken65 #usa #thali #southindianrestaurant...

Posted by Amma's kitchen on Wednesday, 11 September 2019

Another spot for superb South Indian cuisine is Amma’s Kitchen—which follows Tamil Nadu government’s Amma Unavagam model and aims at providing food at subsidized prices. The scheme was pioneered by former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, so don’t be surprised if you see a picture of a lady on the restaurant’s board and menu card—it’s her. Following this low-cost concept, the place has made itself quite a name locally and is a hit among Edison locals. And all this without compromising on the quality and taste of the food. Imagine a South Indian thali for just 1 USD! Chicken kothu, parotta with chicken curry, and Mysore dosa are a very few of the many great dishes you can try here. Although, don’t be disappointed if you see costs being cut for certain things—for example, disposable cutlery and not very fancy interiors. Focus on the grub!

The ringan shaak, dal dhokli, khichadi, and puran poli are among the most favourite dishes of Rajdhani’s regular diners. Posted by Firangi Indian Eatery on Friday, 10 May 2019

Firangi’s real deal is its Hyderabadi fare, which it does a great job of. The place has very limited seating, so don’t be surprised if you have to wait around a bit. The packed restaurant is proof that Firangi is a hit among diners and perfect for those who like their food spicy and punchy. Go in for the double spicy chicken biryani—every bit the kick! Apart from that, the rogan josh, chicken tikka masala, malai kofta, and butter chicken are also well worth the try. Although, do note that the restaurant shares its parking space with a convenience store, so you may have trouble finding a spot during peak hours.
