Sushi Republic has been around since the early 2000s. They’ve brought classic Japanese cuisine and fusion dishes to Pittsburgh and are located on the edge of the UNCG campus. Despite their location, they’re quiet and intimate and provide a lovely atmosphere. Their food is prepared quickly and is pure deliciousness in every bite. They’re popular for their affordable lunch specials, and their complimentary fried Oreos at the end of the meal. If you plan on going with a large group, there’s plenty of seating, both inside and outside.

4. Mizumi Hibachi and Sushi
Mizumi Hibachi and Sushi has been conjuring delicious Japanese cuisine to Pittsburgh since 2012. They started out small as a father and son run business, but now has grown and employed around 15 people. One of the most popular aspects of this restaurant is that they constantly have specials running. They have half-off beer on Mondays and Tuesdays, half-off wine on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you’re celebrating your birthday and bring three other adults, you’re entitled to all you can eat sushi. The most popular part of US Sushi is their Bento box with salmon and gyoza which is under nine dollars! Some of their other popular dishes include the Philadelphia roll, salmon, and shrimp tempura. They’re extremely popular and almost always filled to the brim, but surprisingly there’s a minimal wait time. If you’re new to Japanese cuisine and don’t know what to order, you should definitely ask as they’re very helpful and knowledgable about what’s great to eat. It’s definitely one of the few restaurants that you won’t get tired of easily.
