Greenboro was named after Major General Nathaniel Greene, a revolutionary war hero. Its sometimes referred to as the Gate City, as it used to see upwards of sixty trains moving in and out of the city every day. As a result, it is connected to every city in the state. Some interesting things to do when you’re in town: visit the Greensboro Science centre which has an aquarium, zoo, science museum and 3D theatre in one place. You should also check out any one of the multitudes of gardens and parks like Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden, and Bog Garden at Benjamin Park. If you’re more in the mood to stuff yourselves, then you should definitely check out the Japanese cuisine. Finding authentic Japanese restaurants is difficult, as most places serve Americanized versions of the same dishes. Luckily, this isn’t a problem in Greensboro and if you’re struggling to find places then we’ve got you covered! Keep reading to find out about the best Japanese restaurants in Greensboro, North Carolina!

1. Kobe of Japan

Kobe of Japan is a quick, inexpensive place to visit when you’re craving Japanese food. Their lunch specials are an absolute steal at 6 to 7 USD, which means that you can easily feed your family of four for under 25 USD. Despite the low cost, they have good portion sizes and use good quality and fresh ingredients. Their thick creamy white sauce is especially popular, and their fresh fragrant rice doesn’t feel like it came out of a ready-made rice cooker. Please note that they take orders in bulk, so wait times can go up to 20 minutes. It might be better to call ahead to beat the crowd.
