Rising Sun Hotel hosts its regular Jazz on Thursdays every week, with other jazz bands and artists also performing on other days of the week. Located in South Melbourne, the hotel bar is one of the only few places in this area of the city which offer live jazz music. The hotel is becoming a fast-rising name in the jazz community, with its array of jazz performers. It is also a sports bar which regularly screens rugby games by the Sydney Swans.

Golden Monkey Lounge Bar is not just a bar, but a fun and hip Shanghai-inspired nightclub, which provides great live entertainment. Besides the music, they also serve delicious Chinese cuisines, such as fluffy pork buns, steamed dumplings, and other traditional Chinese dim sum foods. Referred by some as the home of Melbourne’s jazz scene, the music venue hosts many famous and amazing jazz musicians and bands every night. This unique jazz room is tucked under a movie theatre, there is one located in the city location of Lido Cinemas. In that small and intimate room and jazz venue, you can get to enjoy a live jazz performance on Fridays and Saturdays. The unique concept was inspired by the small and uniquely decorated jazz bars which were scattered around Manhatten in the 1980s. The performance guide, which includes local artists as well as visiting ones, is curated by the owner of the aforementioned Uptown Jazz Cafe.
