The Pelican Lake got its name from the pelican, a migratory bird that became a regular visitor of the lake together with geese and ducks. It is famous for its rich grasslands and mixed hardwood forests, making it a great place for hiking, camping, and picnicking. Being an all-season attraction, people also visit the lake to enjoy ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. For a bird’s-eye view of the area, there is an observation tower along with one of the hiking trails.
