Located in Moabit, a district of Germany’s enticing capital city of Berlin, the three-star Les Nations is a welcoming hotel with comfortable and clean rooms and great facilities for travellers.
Whether you want to explore Berlin’s fascinating historical sites, such as the Berlin Wall and the Brandenburg Gate, enjoy the beauty of the Green Forest and lush parks, such as Tiergarten, hit up the city’s many museums, sample the German capital’s eclectic night scene, or something else entirely, Les Nations is a great base from which to discover the best of Berlin.
Here’s a bit of what you can expect when you stay at Les Nations:
A choice of rooms to suit different expectations
Les Nations has a total of 39 rooms spread over five floors. There is an elevator in the building, meaning that you don’t have to lug heavy baggage up and down the stairs.
If you’re travelling alone, or value your privacy, there are two types of single room: standard singles, with a single bed, and comfort singles, with a double bed. The comfort rooms overlook the quiet street, as opposed to the inner courtyard. The comfort single rooms also have a private balcony. Despite the name, comfort singles can be booked by two people as a small double room if you want to save more money.
Two travellers can enjoy more space in the double rooms. Standard and comfort options are also available. The main differences between the two types of room are that comfort rooms have more amenities and a private balcony with seating.
If you’re just staying for a night or two, and don’t plan on spending much time in your room, the standard rooms are great. The comfort rooms are recommended for a longer stay, or for people who may have to spend longer periods in their room, for example people who need to work whilst away from home.
Prices vary according to room type and the time of year. You can expect to pay between 50 EUR (approximately 57 USD) and 185 EUR (approximately 210 USD) per night at Les Nations, with the cheaper prices being for the standard single room, and the more expensive rates being for the comfort double room. Exact prices for the time of your stay can be obtained by contacting the property directly.
Stylish and comfortable rooms with good facilities
All rooms have a private bathroom, complete with a selection of toiletries, a large mirror plus a small magnifying mirror, and a hairdryer.
A choice of pillows is available if you have any particular preferences, although you will almost certainly find that the pillows already on the beds are plump and delightfully soft. A lovely touch, when you first enter your room you’ll find a small edible treat waiting for you on your pillow. (Our room had a chocolate, others had jelly sweets).
Crisp, clean white sheets and a warm duvet make sinking into bed a delight at the end of a busy day. You should certainly have no problems drifting off to sleep!
Most rooms have been recently renovated, and you’ll find sleek furnishings and tasteful décor. The ceiling lights are particularly simple but effective, with two over-sized shades hanging against each other at an angle. Pictures of famous Berlin landmarks adorn the walls.
In each room you’ll find a TV with cable channels, an alarm clock, a mini refrigerator, a telephone, an electronic safe, a wardrobe and a desk with a chair. Other potentially useful amenities include a small sewing kit for essential repairs, a shoeshine kit, and a shoe horn (used for helping you to fit your feet into close-fitting shoes).
Free tea and coffee making facilities
As with many establishments, Les Nations offers free tea and coffee making facilities to guests. You won’t find a kettle in your comfort room though; instead, you have a small coffee machine, perfect for an aromatic morning cuppa! You can also get just hot water from the machine if you fancy tea or hot chocolate instead.
Complimentary drinking water is provided in all rooms, and you’ll also find a selection of soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, and snacks in the refrigerator as a mini bar service (extra charges apply).
Good hotel facilities and amenities
The reception area is manned around the clock in the family-run establishment, and members of staff are only too happy to assist with queries and recommendations. Plenty of information leaflets are on hand to help you make the most of your stay. Drinks and snacks can be bought from the reception area.
There is a spacious breakfast room in which you can enjoy a buffet breakfast each morning for an additional 9.50 EUR (approximately 10.80 USD). You’ll find different types of fresh bread, a wide choice of cereals, fresh fruit, eggs, different cold meats and cheeses, and cooked meats, such as sausage and bacon. Tea, coffee, and fruit juice are available to drink. You can also choose to order something from the breakfast room-service menu and dine in the privacy of your room.
The hotel operates an airport shuttle service. The cost of a transfer to or from Berlin Tegel Airport is 15 EUR (approximately 17 USD).
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and the signal is strong and reliable.
Luggage storage and laundry facilities are available at Les Nations, and other services include currency exchange and bicycle rental. There is also an onsite car park (extra charges apply).
Well-connected by public transport
Just a few minutes’ walk from a couple of underground stations on different lines (Hansaplatz, Bellevue, and Turmstrasse), around a five-minute drive from Berlin Main Station, and about a fifteen-minute drive from Berlin Tegel Airport, Les Nations is in a great location for getting into the heart of the city and exploring Berlin.
Regular buses also pass by the end of the road, connecting with various places around the city, including Tegel Airport and Berlin Main Station.
Taxis are easy to find, and the hotel offers a shuttle service for an additional fee.
If you’re feeling energetic, it will take you around 35 - 40 minutes to walk into Mitte, the bustling core of Berlin.
Comfortable, friendly, and well-connected, Les Nations is a top choice for visitors to Germany’s interesting and lively capital. Book your stay at Les Nations for your next trip to Berlin!
