This property is located steps away from Plaza de Bib-Rambla. Its name translates to 'gate of the sandy area,' referring to its proximity to the Darro River. It's also called Plaza de las Flores, because of the flower shops, some of which are still here. In the Nasrid era, it was a food market and the main square of the city. A curious fact is that the Neptune crowning the central fountain, or Fountain of the Giants, is a Christ figure. When it was being transported to the Church of San Justo y Pastor, it fell along the way breaking one of its arms. A new arm was made, which did not fit well with the original marble, so to cover up the irregularity, they decided to add a trident to it, thus turning our Christ of San Justo y Pastor into the God of the Seas in the square.

This rental is located in Realejo-San Matias, one of the most picturesque areas in the city of Granada. Realejo refers to the monarchy's ownership of it. However, it stands out because it was the Jewish quarter of Granada during the Nasrid era.
In Muslim Granada, the Jewish community achieved power (including government), which was unimaginable in other areas of Spain, and extremely wealthy people from the Sephardic community settled in this area. Nowadays, it is inhabited by the "greñuos," referring either to their Virgin of Mercy or to their Jewish ancestors and the curls they wore in their hair.
