The Lanta Residence Boutique hotel is not on the beach - though the beach is easy walking distance away - and breakfast is not included. Now that we’ve gotten the bad news out of the way, it’s time to talk about just how fabulous a tropical vacation can be for 20 USD a night. Because, without much hyperbole, it is safe to say that this may be the best cost-performance vacation you will ever take.
An entrance less than grand, designed to scare off the naysayers
No valet, no doorman, but a smiling face will be at the front desk. You may not see too many other guests, but this just adds to the exclusivity of it all. And, in case you forgot, this hotel is priced as low a 20 USD per night, for two people (two beds even, if you prefer). The location is quite good, as it is just moments from harbor, and a short walk to downtown Lanta town, which is full of restaurants and shops. A ten minute walk brings you to a lovely beach where you can frolic with people spending much more on their rooms, and enjoy the very same sunset view with them.
Spacious rooms with lots of comforts
Spaaaaaace a plenty! There’s a desk at left, a big bed and a single size one too, a nightstand, a very usable balcony with table and chairs, a couple of chairs inside, a TV, a fridge, a wardrobe, and a hot water maker to use in conjunction with the free coffee they provide. Air conditioning is top notch, the free Wi-Fi is pretty decent, and every surface is spotless. And if you’ll excuse the belaboring, it costs a pittance.
The bathroom is all you ever dreamed of (during your low budget dreams)
Behold! Extra toilet paper at the ready! A spacious shower complete with curtain, a very respectable toilet, and a nice size mirror showing you who you are while you use the very efficient wash basin. Towels are soft, and so is that toilet paper! Best of all, just like the room, the bathroom is spotless.
A rooftop pool, you say?
A rooftop pool it is indeed, and most likely all you and yours for the frollicking in! Sunset is a particularly nice time to partake. Honestly, at this point if you aren’t sold on the cost/benefit analysis, what would it take? The pool affords views across the town, as - wait for it! - this is most likely the tallest building on the island! It has five stories.
Your two-wheeled chariot will enjoy complimentary parking just outside the front door
You’ll probably want to rent a motorbike while on Koh Lanta. Traffic is not very hectic. There’s not even a single traffic signal on the whole island.
Paradise on the cheap
With clean, spacious rooms, spotless bathrooms, a brilliant location, and so much more, Lanta Residence Boutique is the answer for the low-budget holidaymaker. Use that money you are saving for some grand meals, a massage or two, or maybe even a sunset drink at one of those fancy, beachfront hotels.
