Each one is special in its own way, so if you want to discover the unique cultural element of this country, simply read on.
1. Rot Fai Market
Known in English as the Train Night Market, Rot Fai Market is an absolute must-visit. The layout of this place makes it easy to maneuver around and find everything that you need. Head to the central avenues for antiques and second-hand toys. The outer layers are the perfect places to unearth a more bric-a-brac-style market that offers everything from from clothes and accessories to daily items. The best thing? It’s open every day until the early hours of the morning, so whenever you get a craving to shop you can just dive right in.
Rot Fai Market

Opening hours: 5pm - 1am (daily)
2. Asiatique
If you’re interested in both mall-style shopping and night markets then Asiatique should be at the top of your list. This unique night market is combined with a mall. It’s surprisingly huge, with over 1,500 boutiques and plenty of fantastic eateries to keep your energy high. Thankfully, unlike many other night markets that often change, you can pinpoint exactly where you are and where you want to go simply by looking at the map. No trip to Asiatique is complete without seeing the live performances that happen during the night. The best way to get there is by boat, which runs until 11 pm, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore.

3. Chang Chui Bangkok Plane Market
Posted by ช่างชุ่ย ChangChui on Thursday, 21 November 2019
Looking for something that is even more impressive? What about a night market intermingled with huge, dynamic - and slightly crazy - art installations? Ever been to a night market to enjoy a drink under the engine of a massive airplane? If not, now is your opportunity. This place is trendier than others and enjoys a more ‘hipster’ vibe. You can expect to see lots of locals and foreigners enjoying a beer and strolling around the area. There are two performance areas here and they mainly host acoustic and jazz performances.

4. Patpong Night Market
This night market is in the middle of the Red Light District, so we would recommend you err of the side of caution. However, it’s a vibrant and lively spot, so it’s a great way to delve into Bangkok. This is the spot to go to if you want to fill your bags with cheap souvenirs and some knock-off pieces. You may have less luck bartering here than in some of the other markets, as it seems like tourists fresh off the plan visit the market and, without knowing the bartering custom, they will happily open their purses for the full asking price. It’s open until late and easy to get to, so it’s definitely worth a stop.
Patpong Night Market
Address: Patpong 1 Rd., 10500 Suriyawong Bangrak, Bangkok
Website: Patpong Night Market
Opening hours: 6pm - 1am (daily)
5. The Owl Market
With its brightly colored rooftops, this quirky market is popular with both tourists and foreigners alike. Get ready to rummage because everything here is stacked high. It’s a lot of fun seeing what unique and exciting treasures you can unearth on your visit. This spot is a bit further from downtown Bangkok and is also cheaper than many of the other markets in the city. There’s plenty of street food that can be enjoyed while walking around the site. This is a great place to experience the hustle and bustle, as it feels much less touristy compared to other markets.
The Owl Market
Address: Chang Wat Nonthaburi 11000, Thailand

Opening hours: 3pm - 12am (daily)
6. The Knack Market
We love the vibe and meaning of the Knack Market. If you’re interested in seeing what the 1970s hippie culture might have looked like in Thailand, then this market should top your list. This fantastic spot has over 100 shops and over 2,000 visitors. The bohemian-style outdoor performance space that is centered around a tree sees many performers. With over 10,000 products on offer, we’re sure you’ll find something special. Overall, this night market is reminiscent of an outdoor festival. Expect good music, fairy lights, and a warm welcome.
The Knack Market
Address: 41 Charoen Nakhon Rd, Khwaeng Khlong San, Khet Khlong San, Bangkok 10600, Thailand

Opening hours: Sat - Sun: 4pm - 9pm (closed from Mon - Fri)
7. Mali Market
If the idea of asking for prices and bartering makes you break out in cold sweat then head straight to Mali Market. This customer-friendly market shows their prices in full view. Though it caters mainly to the locals, this is actually another reason to go: to experience a traditional Thai night market. You know the old expression, “Go where the locals go!” Here, you’ll see groups of students, families, businessmen and individual shoppers passing by. You will even be able to pick up some cheap clothing and accessories to take home with you. We love that this market also has a number of excellent local food stalls that are worth checking out.
Mali Market
Address: 111 Moo 5 Pak kret 39 Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi 11120, Thailand
Website: Mali Market
Opening hours: 5pm - 12am (daily)
8. Huamum Night Market
This lesser-known market has a great night-time atmosphere. There are many stalls selling clothes, electronics, and books, but there are also a number of sellers here offering handmade items. Why not pick up a beautiful necklace or bag as a souvenir? The food stalls all look delicious, but we recommend trying the bingsu, a shaved ice dessert from Korea. It’s the perfect snack to restore your energy after exploring the stalls. There is another market just five minutes away in case you haven’t had enough.
Huamum Night Market
Address: 678 Prasert-Manukitch Rd, Lat Phrao, Bangkok 10230, Thailand
Opening hours: 5:30pm - 12am (daily)
9. Ramkhamhaeng Night Market
Posted by Trần Duy Minh on Thursday, 29 November 2018
This market is particularly focused on women’s products. So, if you are female and want to spend the day looking for the best bargains, then head to Ramkhamhaeng Night Market. Not only can you buy clothes, accessories, and beauty products, you can even get your hair and nails done. Everything you need to get ready is available so make sure to block off a night and spend it at this market. Due to its location, you might find it difficult to find a beer, but you will find plenty of halal foods.

Opening hours: Mon - Tues: 4pm - 11pm; Thu - Sun: 4pm - 11pm (closed on Wed)
10. Liab Duan Night Market
This market is also known as ‘Market By the Highway’ due to the adjacent road. This means that it’s also very easy for the locals to get here. As a result, you’ll see that this site is much more packed with local people than tourists. You can expect the usual market stalls, including electrical goods, clothes, and accessories lining the avenues. The one thing that you might not expect to find is a small petting zoo. You might not be sure what to make of animals at a night market, but the overall vibe of Liab Duan Night Market is fun and refreshing.

11. Indy Market
Ever wondered what a Thai hipster market might look like? Now is your opportunity to see it in person. Relatively new, this night market only began in 2017 and has a different atmosphere from many of the other night markets on this list. There are about 500 stalls selling a wide range of products. The clothes are much trendier, so if you’re fashion-conscious, Indy Market should be your first stop. You can expect to see the locals sitting on the grass under the neon lights, enjoying their free time on a Friday or Saturday night. In many of the bars and eateries, you will hear lots of live music.

12. Artbox Night Market
Posted by Artboxthailand on Thursday, 5 December 2019
Artbox is another new creation, and you’ll love its design concept. Built from container boxes, not only does the market provide fun entertainment, but it also reuses old containers. Now, you have to be a little bit careful because the market has previously moved to new locations, so make sure to double-check the address and write it down for the taxi driver. We don’t want you going to the wrong address and missing the opportunity to enjoy this great night market. Here, you won’t find the usual - and somewhat cheesy - souvenirs and printed t-shirts. Instead, you’ll be able to buy direct from local designers who handcraft their products. It’s the perfect place to pick up a unique item.
Artbox Night Market
Address: Chuvit Garden, Sukhumvit 10 Alley, Chuvitgarden, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110, Thailand
Website: Artbox Night Market
Opening hours: 4pm - 12am (daily)
13. Talad Neon
Posted by The Neon Night Bazaar on Sunday, 10 November 2019
Also known as Neon Night Market, this is also a fairly new night market, having broken into the scene in 2016. It’s a popular spot for revelers looking for a relaxed atmosphere without having to travel too far from central Bangkok. There are areas here that are sometimes unused, and many of the spots are now bars rather than stalls. This might be the ideal market for you if you are looking to visit a night market but feel uncomfortable in crowded and hectic places. This place has a much more relaxed vibe, and English is much more frequently spoken.
Talad Neon
Address: 1087, 167 Phetchaburi Rd, Makkasan, Ratchathewi, Bangkok 10400, Thailand
Website: Talad Neon
Opening hours: 4pm - 12am (daily)
14. Chatuchak Friday Night Market
Although known as part of the Chatuchak Weekend Market, Friday Night Market has a different vibe and is slightly independent of the weekend market. Firstly, this market offers wholesale prices, and you can pick up some excellent bargains on clothing and fashion accessories. It might be smaller than the weekend market, and they stand only partially open, but because it’s becoming more and more popular with locals and tourists, more sellers have started setting up stalls. Get here early to enjoy a fresh meal from one of the many food vendors in the area. Rather uniquely, the market is open until 7 am on Saturday morning.
Chatuchak Friday Night Market

Website: Chatuchak Friday Night Market
Opening hours: Fri: 9pm - 7am (closed from Sat - Thu)
15. Palladium Night Market
Nestled in the front area of Palladium Shopping Mall which closes at night, this night market suddenly comes to life. This isn’t the most popular night market out of the whole list, but if you’re looking for something to do in the evening, it’s worth a visit. The prices here are generally cheaper than some of the other markets, so if you’re on a tight budget, you still might be able to pick up something special. The unwritten rule here seems to be that the more you buy from any seller, the better deal you get.
Palladium Night Market
Address: 487 Phetchaburi Rd, Makkasan, Ratchathewi, Bangkok 10400, Thailand

Opening hours: 6pm - 12am (daily)
16. Klong Thom Night Market
Whether it’s daytime or nighttime, there’s always something happening at Klong Thom Night Market, one of the oldest markets in the area. This is located in the Chinese area of Bangkok, so you might also be able to find some Chinese products alongside traditional Thai products. It’s the perfect pit-stop if you’re craving Chinese food. Most of the stalls at the market feature souvenir-style gifts and items. There is no set map or plan for the market, so it can be a little bit confusing if you’re looking for something specific. Tip: come here with an open mind, go early to soak up the atmosphere, and you’ll surely have a great time.
Klong Thom Night Market
Address: Worachak, Samphanthawong, Pomprapsattruphai, Bangkok 10110, Thailand
Opening hours: Sat: 5pm - Sun: 5pm.
17. Suan Lum Night Bazaar
This night market is a lot quieter than many others on this list, and it’s included here for this exact reason. Sometimes, the thought of tackling a full night market just for one forgotten present or souvenir can leave travelers feeling tired and weary. For this exact reason, Suan Lum Night Bazaar is perfect. You can nip the market, grab what you need, and be back in your accommodation in no time at all. As expected, you can find everything you need in terms of souvenirs and gifts, just with much less choice and much less hassle.
Suan Lum Night Bazaar
Address: 5 Ratchadapisek Road, Bangkok, Thailand
Website: Suan Lum Night Bazaar
Opening hours: 5pm - 12am (daily)
18. Khao San Road Night Market
This is the main backpacking area and so it’s no surprise that you’ll find a bustling night market here. Expect there to be a lot of tourists and the noise of haggling. Often described as ‘intense’, you’ll soon see why. The daytime market is fairly relaxed, but at 6 pm, things start to become a bit more hectic and there’s a lot more cajoling on the streets. If you’ve been here before, you may notice a slight difference because, in recent years, the government has been trying to make the area a little less chaotic. There are a large number of bars and restaurants on either side, so you can stop here for refreshments. There is still definitely a party vibe which might be worth considering if you have small children.
Khao San Road Night Market
Address: 161, 163 Khaosan Rd, Talat Yot, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand
Opening hours: Mon - Sat: 6pm - 2am; Sun: 6pm - 12am
19. Fisherman's Village Walking Street
Located in Bophut, on Koh Samui Island, this market is a must-visit on a Friday evening. The road is closed to traffic, and the area becomes a pedestrian market in the night. Not only will you find great food, a nice vibe, and plenty of products, you can also enjoy a fantastic view. If you’re not staying in Bophut, it’s still quite easy and cheap to get a taxi to the market, and you won’t regret it. You’ll love the more boutique-feel of this night market.
Fisherman's Village Walking Street
Address: Bophut Beach Road, Bophut, Koh Samui
Opening hours: 24 hours (daily)
20. Thepprasit Road Night Market
This big market is ideal for budget shopping. It’s a little further out than some of our other listings, and you might need a taxi to get there, but it’s still definitely worth the visit! It has over 100 shops and plenty of street food. It’s particularly known for its well-produced faux designer products. Try your luck by bartering - some stalls accept bartering and others do not. You can expect to see all the major labels represented. It also has a welcoming atmosphere that you’ll love.
Thepprasit Road Night Market
