The market is part of the Victoria Harbor Festival and visitors can enjoy the night market on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. An eclectic variety of clothing, arts, handicrafts and other items is available at the night market, along with several food vendors, serving a variety of delicious fare along with candy stalls, ice cream and other delights. Locally brewed craft beers can be sampled and purchased while visiting the market and buskers are positioned throughout, offering their own brand of musical entertainment. Oak Bay Summer Night Market is open from June to September on the second Wednesday of each month. The European-style night market is held in the Oak Bay Village. Visitors can enjoy browsing a selection of locally hand-made arts and crafts, including glass art, fabric arts, hand-made greeting cards, wood-turned bowls, pottery, jewelry, hand-made soaps and cosmetics, preserves and toys. Local musicians entertain in various spots throughout the market, along with face-painting, a magician and balloon animals for the kids to enjoy. Taste-test the locally brewed craft beers while exploring the market. Also, several of the stores and many restaurants in the immediate area stay open during the market hours and offer a range of special tastings, demos and sampling of their wares.

3. Sydney Street Market

Sidney’s Street Market is held from June to August each year on every Thursday night. The market has been running every year for 17 years and turns the town’s main street, Beacon Avenue, into a spectacular night street market, while closing the area off to traffic. The night market features more than 150 vendors, selling home-made arts and crafts such as jewelry, clothing, flowers, toys, breads, pastries, cakes, jams, soaps, candy and sweets and more. During the opening of the market, many of the local restaurants and shops remain open to add to the attractions and choices available. Musical performers are seen and heard during the market days, adding to its festive air. The town of Sidney is a short and convenient 24-minute drive from the city of Victoria along the Patricia Bay Highway.
