Held in September each year, the Manitoba Night Market and Festival is a fun event for the whole family. The market supports local businesses with around 100 vendors, including artisans selling their crafts and wares. Planned activities are available for children. A number of beer gardens serve the best craft beers from local microbreweries, while 20 food trucks offer a range of dining options. More than 10 bands and musicians play throughout the event and in various areas of the festival grounds. The night market is held at Assiniboia Downs, a horse race track in the city and is operated by the Manitoba Jockey Club. The track can be found close to the intersection of Portage Avenue and Perimeter Highway on the western edge of Winnipeg.

The Downtown Winnipeg Night Market is held for one night in June, July, and August each year. Visitors head to the Manitoba Hydro Plaza to enjoy browsing the market vendors’ stalls, selling local crafts and wares including 9Round, Clay Oven and Bison Books. Rudy’s Patio and Rudy’s Pop-Up bar offer a wine and beer garden on Edmonton Street between Graham and Portage Avenue. Buskers perform throughout the market and events such as Instagram Alley and The Barking Spot are held. Pop-Up Parks are enjoyable and are held outside Thom Bargen on Kennedy Street and in front of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Face Paint Ladies are there to decorate the kids. This event is for those who wish to shop local and experience some of the best restaurants and bars in downtown Winnipeg, which offer a range of different cuisines to choose from.
