This is a relatively new nightclub but has gained the reputation real soon in Berlin city. Gretchen is also a medium-sized venue that holds DJ nights, they play everything here from classic to contemporary. The time frame of events is often dissimilar, there are shows that start in evenings and there are shows that begin after midnight. The midnight shows are always expensive, remember that. Also take a note that charges aren’t fixed either, the price of the ticket depends on the type of event; which is why you should always check their website before actually going there. Gretchen is also a wheelchair-accessible club, and the staff would love to assist such special guests.

2. Club der Visionäre
On the shores of Riven Flutgraben, you will find this amazing club with lots of trees. It’s a rustic wooden-themed, open-air location that’s a bar during daytime and a nightclub after evening hours. There is a small entry fee if you come after the lunch hours, but it’s free to visit before 3pm. It is always nice to have some drinks at such a riverside location so visit in the daytime, too. As far as the music is a concern, it plays minimal techno music and the club has good vibes. Visit Club der Visionäre for beautiful afternoon celebrations and DJ parties at its wooden sun terrace. By the way, this club closes a little earlier than others.

3. Golden Gate

If the day is correct and every other club is closed then you can visit this golden place–it’s a nightclub where your midnight party can last till the next afternoon. Golden Gate is a compact techno club and they have local DJs. The club has disheveled exteriors and it doesn’t even look like a nightclub from anywhere, but don’t get confused by its outer shell. It’s an underground club and has a decent-sized dance floor; and since it is meant for lasting parties, you have resting couches and clean bathrooms. The cover charges don’t come with drink coupon, but Golden Gate is still better than other places in party standards. Too bad it isn’t open every day of the week.

4. SchwuZ
Originally hailed as a gay-only club 40 years back, SchwuZ is now ranked amongst the top rated ‘everyone’s nightclubs’ in Berlin. It is one of the friendliest clubs of this city; they allow literally anyone in the house as long as they know how to behave. SchwuZ comprises three dance halls for different musical genres, plus a game room that has ping-pong, foosball, etc., and other entertainment areas. It never gets boring here; they organize in-house talent hunt, photo contest, and such playful things. The club opens only two days in a week but the parties last till morning. The entry fee is always minimal and people can even get inside for free if they come in cross-dress.

For instance, my mom failed her first test tour, when she didn’t refer to the Berlin Wall by its official East German propaganda term ‘antifascist protection barrier.’On my tours, I am always happy to share personal family stories about what it was like growing up in such an exciting and ever-changing city. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English and History from the University of Potsdam and a Master’s degree in European Studies from the Viadrina Frankfurt/Oder.When I’m not guiding, I work as a journalist at one of Berlin’s biggest radio stations or spend time with my wife and son. I have also lived in New York City and in Brussels, where I worked at the Goethe-Institut and the European Parliament, respectively. I speak fluent English with hardly any accent. 5. Humboldthain Club
It’s a popular nightclub in Wedding district, specifically among the youngsters. Thus, if you would also like to get mixed in with the energetic groups, consider Humboldthain. This club doesn’t follow strict policies and has nice staff so you can get super informal. The DJ plays industrial techno beats and you can dance on any of the two dance floors. Not in the mood for dance? Maybe you would like to play table tennis with strangers. The admission charges are not too much and the good thing is that drinks are also cheap. Humboldthain is also very easy to get to from anywhere in this city as it is located right next to the Berlin-Gesundbrunnen station.

6. KitKat Club
This nightclub is very unusual and you should understand that this place isn’t fit for everybody. The next few lines will help you to estimate the level of the naughtiness of KitKa - it is owned and operated by an X-rated filmmaker couple. Also, it is a place where fetish-related or kinky things are allowed and normal dressing is totally prohibited. Trust us–experiencing KitKat will be totally wild. However, if you’ve decided to visit, this would be similar to an uninterrupted beach party experience.

7. Sage Club
Since the previous destination wasn’t appropriate for most people, take a look at this great underground nightclub in that exact block. Sage Club entertains in Berlin for more than 20 years now and it opens only once every week. This club holds two live band performances every Thursday night so it’s closer to a concert than DJ event; entries are free till 10pm so better arrive early. This place comprises three dance floors, an open area, and also a sauna pool. By the way, Sage has a fleet of over 25 DJs–you will definitely have your kind of music here.

8. Yaam
This is another unusual place of our list but in a good sense. This club embodies two different cultures at one place; the club name is an acronym of Young African Art Market. It is the place in Berlin where you can have great African food and music altogether. But it is not just limited to Africans, the standard musical genre of this club is Reggae, thus you will also get so many Caribbean and Brazilian crowd. Yaam holds events every day so it’s a good idea to check out this place; there is no entry fee here, but they will ask you for donations. Anything over one dollar is acceptable, but if you could pay more then they would be very grateful.

9. Dunckerclub
Now we have this simple yet lovely nightclub in the north of the city for people who are a fan of indie and alternative rock genre. Dunckerclub is amongst the oldest clubs of the city. Opened some 30 years back, this club found its authentic fan base. Now they keep weekly concerts, and hold international band events. The club is spacious, it’s usually dark and smoky inside but Dunckerclub has what they call their Beer Garden. If you’re thinking to visit this nightclub, try to come on Thursdays as the club do not charge entry fee on this day. However, the admission charges are already pretty low.

10. VOID Club
Void takes the final spot on our list of the best nightclubs in Berlin. It’s a relatively new opening in the city that specializes in drum bass, hard rock, techno, reggae, and various other kinds of music. How? They have a total of 13 resident DJs, all very capable in their own genre. The club has two dance floors, aggressive lighting, and a totally dope vibe. Void is also one of the friendliest places you will see in Berlin–they do not follow the dress code or any of such strict policy. This club allows you to get free access until midnight; roll a dice to determine the admission charges afterward–playful, right?
