1. The Keeper of the Plains Plaza “Ring of Fire”
This photo of the Keeper of the Plains statue and "Ring of Fire" in WIchita was taken 7 years ago tonight.

At the point where the Big and Little Arkansas rivers join, in Downtown Wichita, there stands a 44 foot (13.4 meter) tall steel statue of an American Indian warrior named the “Keeper of the Plains”, who watches over Wichita. In 2007, the statue was surrounded by a circle of firepots that nowadays burn a “Ring of Fire”, nearly daily, for 15 minutes. A show worth seeing, if you are fascinated by fire and lights like I am.
Something to be aware of is that the show has a unique schedule and you don’t want to miss it. In the spring and summer, the show runs nightly at 9 pm for 15 minutes. During the fall and winter, it starts at 7pm for 15 minutes. Please also note that is If it is raining, the winds are high, the river level is too high, the weather is bad or even if a person is too close to the burners, the Ring of Fire will not be turned on.
Last, but not least, the Keeper of the Plains Plaza has two-foot bridges running north and south, for people to cross from the plaza at the base of the Keeper of the Plains statue and back.

2. Old Town District
Posted by Orlando Lee on Sunday, February 21, 2016
The Old Town District is situated to the east of downtown and right in the heart of Wichita. It is a lively and upcoming district that houses brick-lined streets, historic lampposts, and a collection of converted brick warehouses that are truly a highlight of the city. I am mentioning this place since there are more than 100 businesses here, including shops, clubs, theaters, and of course, restaurants, that makes this place popular, especially at night. Because of this, many people choose to live in this area or stay here, when in town. It’s a fun place to be and in 2003, the Old Town District was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

This happening place is Wichita’s first video game bar. This means that this place offers complimentary video games like Xbox 360, Wii, Xbox One, PS4, and Wii U games while serving typical American pub food and drinks. There is even a video game themed cocktail menu and a monthly video game tournament. It is alright if you are not into video games since there are new and old board games available here, as well.

After exploring the best things to do around town, come have some more fun here, at the largest nightclub in Kansas.
