There are several types of villas to choose from, such as the Beachfront Spa Villa or the Beachfront Bliss Villa, and both are worth staying in. The only real difference is the decor and bathrooms located in each. Of course, with the Beachfront Spa Villa, you can relax in your own spa bath with a large window that looks out onto the Pacific Ocean. In the Beachfront Bliss Villa, you will have a fabulous, modern free standing bath to relax in. I stayed in the Spa Villa, which I highly recommend!
All Beachfront Villas are well appointed with unobstructed views straight out to the Pacific Ocean and along the coast from Mount Maunganui to the sheer cliffs at Maketu.

The interior of the Beachfront Villas at the Papamoa Beach Resort is luxurious. The interior decor is modern, fresh and adds to the ultimate relaxation experience. There is no shortage of comfortable spots to sit and enjoy. You have the option of an outdoor setting, a picnic table, sit on the grass verge as well as plenty of cosy chairs inside your room!
The rooms are spacious with a large Queen size bed that is super comfortable. A dining table, kitchenette and sitting area are all in one room, but don’t worry, there is loads of room for two people. A TV is mounted on the wall opposite the bed so you can watch while you relax. There is a round skylight located on the ceiling above the bed so that you can see the stars while you rest.
There is plenty of storage space in two large cupboards to store your luggage or unpack your clothes.
Spa bath with a view!
The bathrooms are a central feature in the Beachfront Villas. They are spacious and well equipt. The Spa Villas have a very large spa bath with powerful massaging jets. You have the option to pull the blinds shut or open them for a full view of the Mediterranean style gardens and the ocean beyond. Just beware that people can possibly walk past, so maybe keep them slightly closed. All amenities such as soap, body washes, shampoo and conditioner are provided as well as plenty of towels.
Try a delicious beverage from the kitchen
The rooms are supplied with a excellent range of beverages: creamy hot chocolate, aromatic Robert Harris brand coffee and a good selection of herbal teas. The small kitchenette has everything you need including a jug, plunger, cups, plates and wine glasses. There is also a benchtop element and an electric frypan so you can create amazing meals to enjoy with the view. Barbecues are located throughout the resort with a few right by the Beach Villas so this gives you another option for cooking meals.
If you want to relax completely, there is a great restaurant and bar opposite the Papamoa Beach Resort called Blue Biyou. They offer light meals, snacks, main meals and desserts all presented beautifully and are very tasty. Definitely try their buffalo cheese wedges and calamari.
There is also a shopping centre and supermarket located a short 5 minute walk from the resort, which means you don’t have to travel far if you don’t want too.
Enjoy your coffee with the ocean at your doorstep
With Papamoa Beach located just a few meters from your room, you can enjoy your coffee from the deck or take a short stroll to the beach.
There are comfortable chairs and a chaise lounge where you can sit and just enjoy the incredible views. Kite surfers, wind surfers, people fishing, surfers, and paragliders frequent this strip of beach and are fun to watch. You can see people taking a stroll along the sandy white beach and join them yourself if you feel inclined to move.
The sunsets and sunrises are not to be missed and are well worth sticking around your room to see.

Everything you need to completely enjoy your stay can be found in the Beachfront Villas. Staying in this accommodation is the ultimate way to relax and I highly recommend staying in the Beachfront Spa Villa’s. The location couldn’t be better. Prices start from 240 NZD (163 USD).
While each Villa houses a maximum of two people, there are numerous other accommodation options for everyone as well as a good range of facilities. If you don’t get a Beachfront Spa Villa, there is a private spa that can be hired. Pedal cars that seat between 2 and 4 people can also be hired and are a good way to explore the campground and take in your surroundings.
