Climbing the Pyramids

Gone are the days that you can just climb the pyramids. However, it depends on who is working that day. Some guards allow tourists to climb the pyramids just enough to take some amazing photos. It is still best if you ask the authorities first.

Avoid being scammed

Scams are really unavoidable, especially when you are somewhere popular like the Pyramids of Giza. To avoid being scammed, make sure that you only transact with the personnel that bears the official badges. Also, make sure that everything is clear before you agree on a transaction. Some people might also offer to give them your phone and take a photo of you. Don’t ever fall on this trick as they might flee away with your precious phone.

The Pyramids of Giza might look very distant from the city but they are actually just near Cairo. In fact, it is just 15 miles (24 kilometers) or a 30-minute ride from the Egyptian capital.

It is highly recommended to hire a guide or a driver to see the pyramids. This will let you learn more about the ancient pyramids. However, if you want to see and explore it all by yourself or you are traveling on a budget, then there’s a lot of buses plying the route of Cairo to Giza and vice versa. There are also other commuting options such as taking a taxi or an Uber.
