Oak At Fourteenth serves modern American cuisine in an open kitchen concept. The restaurant mixes the rustic charm of Boulder with locally sourced fresh ingredients and contemporary cocktails. Their fried pickles and baked sourdough bread are outstanding and it is just a great place to dine and catch up with a few drinks after work. The bartenders and mixologists are one of the best in Boulder and overall it is just one of the best upscale restaurants to be in.

Serving fresh, locally-sourced food straight from farms, Black Cat is doing a great job of responsibly sourcing their food supplies from the market. The dishes they serve are pretty inventive too. Since opening doors in 2006, Black Cat has been serving organic produce from their own 130-acre (52 hectares) farms straight to their restaurant tables.

Jill and Eric, the owners of Black Cat, opened Bramble & Hare in 2012 as a way to expand their farm-to-table dining experience concept. A popular family establishment since the 1980s, it serves the best in breakfast fare in the Colorado area. The restaurant in Boulder is set in an old Victorian house with a photograph of Lucile - the owner’s mother after whom the restaurant is named - on the menus. Their menu is simple but mouthwatering. Do opt for their Cajun breakfast and other creole house specialties.

USA Today marked the Dark Horse as one of the “Top Places To Eat A Burger Worthy of Paradise.” There’s old-school wacky decor, games of pool and tricycle races on offers for the patrons, so a lively time is guaranteed.

Via Toscana is a traditional trattoria serving authentic Tuscan cuisine in Boulder. It offers over 600 wine selections and over 100 beer options in its menu. Established in 1998 by Louisville residents, Rob and Krista Castellino, the restaurant gives a peek at true Italian heritage. The restaurant focuses on freshly sourced ingredients with a family menu with recipes that have been handed over from generations. It is located in Louisville, just a short drive from Boulder, but the drive will be worth it when you sample the food. The prices are extremely reasonable for the kind of quality dining experience that it provides. The selection of wines is out of the world and the servers are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about what they serve.

Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery is known for serving fresh, high-quality pub fare and finely crafted brews. The environment encourages meeting new people and long conversations and unlike other pubs, they do not have a TV screen on their premises. The ambiance reminds of living room parties with friends or a binge drinking session at your own home complete with kegs. The six-barrel brewery has been serving award-winning craft beers since 1993 but their food is also a great talking point amongst patrons. They provide tours and gluten-free beers on request, which you should not forget to avail while in the area. Keep in mind that the pub is cash-only but does have an ATM located on-site. Also, make use of the free beer samples if there’s a wait at the bar.
