We usually start our article by going through some geographic and tourism scene, but New York doesn’t need an introduction. Its situated on the East Coast of the united states, and you know the rest. Talking about the food culture, New York has over 10,000 restaurants, many among them stay open 24x7. So, where to eat this weekend is always a tough decision for even a New Yorker. If you’re an outsider, you wouldn’t even have a clue. This city has over 8 million people living in all five boroughs, but for the convenience of our readers, we will only discuss the locations in Manhattan. Since the very beginning, New York raised a mixed-race culture and in present time, literally every ethnic group is living here and they have an ethnic restaurant too. Therefore, defining a true cuisine for New York is unfair. If it is just hot-dogs, pizza, and cheesecake that you can think of for the food culture in Manhattan, you literally haven’t even scratched the surface. New York has restaurants from every ethnic group so check out this article to find out more about the restaurants in this great city.

1. Upstate Craft Beer & Oyster Bar

Upstate Craft Beer & Oyster Bar is a special kind, I meant, can you assume a Manhattan restaurant with no freezer? Well, Upstate really has no freezer and they are proud. The restaurant is run by a small staff of husband and wife and they personally go to the local seafood market each morning and select only the best. The menu is dynamic due to freshness and seasonal availability of things in the morning market, but since it’s an oyster bar, you always have a number of options for an oyster meal. Every meal is less than USD 20, including regional beers. During happy hour, you will get a six-oyster meal for USD 12, in Manhattan!

Taverna Kyclades or TK Astoria is a Mediterranean restaurant on our list. The rustic décor gives TK a typical Mediterranean interior. The menu at TK is not very wide and it changes quite often because their staff only select fish and meats which are on par with their standard. The main course and desserts also have a traditional Greek signature style, ‘Grilled Octopus’ is a specialty. Note here that Taverna Kyclades do not accept reservations, so there could be a waitlist when you arrive.

Bond was a historical clothing store on 45th street. In 2005, they converted that store into an Italian kitchen bar and kept the name ‘Bond 45’. Again, they closed Bond 45 for renovation, and after the latest reboot in 2016, New York has this fine Italian dining. Now it is mainly known for breakfast and breakfast-buffet, where a full-house sometimes happens by 7:30 in the morning. They also serve lunch, brunch, dinner, and wine, but more popular is their economical happy hour.

One last advice

New York has culinary diversity, and we genuinely tried conveying you the scene about some great restaurants, that is why we listed the ones that are only in Manhattan because everyone visits Manhattan. Our final message – do not fail to tip your waiter and tip them good, it’s a custom here. In fact, many restaurants in New York city would add a gratuity amount to your bill, where tipping is disallowed, Hence check the policies before dining.
